My competitor is blasting spammy links to my website

Hello,

A looser is creating spammy links to my $10000/month worth website. So far, i have seen some keywords down in SERPs. I am immediately disowning those link in web master tool. Any other solution?

Disavow tool rarely effective (for me). You have a 10k a month site and you haven't built strong, powerful white hat authoritative links to the money site? If you did, and the domain has been around for a while, then that should be enough to offset the spam?

If you have authority site, I doubt there will be much negative effects.

But, if you have good links only, you can use Disavow tool. But if you have built Spammy links, you will be under threat using Disavow tool.

It depends on how you have got the rankings. That will define what happens next.

Ok, my website has got around 40 high PR homepage links and got stable rankings since last 2 months. From last week, he spammed my website with links from 25-30 shady domains till now. Yesterday i noticed serp changes of some kws. I already disowed all the domains in wmt. Do you think i should buy some more links to get trust of google. Thanks

Just disavow the spammy links, and keep building authority backlinks and do something visual content. Then, you'll get referral backlinks.

Interesting. Usually the parties that is doing negative SEO is not the 2nd party (because he know that you would know) but could be the 3rd party, that is neither you or this "big fish". Most likely it is someone you would not know (because the 3rd party knows that you probably would not know).

Just a thought, a 3rd party could also be interested in seeing two of his competitors kill each other with negative SEO. It's also a common tactic in intelligence to "let our enemies kill each other".

Just make sure that it is really him (with proofs and such) before launching a counter-attack.

How do you know it's him?

Easiest way to destroy your competition is cheap paid mass PBN links which block the popular backlink tools. Use the main exact match money keyword that he's targeting.

If it's just a hunch on your part, than using neg seo is just self rationalizing a shady and unethical method of increasing your position in the SERPS. Google wants SEO to be as cutthroat as possible, they have no problem sending traffic to larger, more authoritative sites, when the little sites beat each other up.

Apart from disavowing the links, there isn't much you can do and that's the biggest disadvantage of negative SEO. It's not the possibility of your site losing it's positions because negative SEO doesn't work all the time, particularly when the site being blasted is an authority site.

The real problem lies in the inability of webmasters to prevent any ill effects that might result from the attack.

Just keep disavowing the links and building better links to your site.
