Hello,

Twitter rolled out its advertising, boosting tweets etc.. (ads.twitter.com)

First of all my question is:
What are the rates? I was checking out there, but it doesn't show anything clear.. For example Facebook post boost show that it'll reach this number of audience, but Twitter its not showing for what budget it'll show to how many people..

Let say for $20, how many people will see a tweet? Any idea?

Question no 2: Does it really worth it? using twitter to do advertising?

Its all-ways worth it if it converts into sales or commission. Give it a try.

I just recently had a campaign to which I think I can answer your question modestly.

I spent 60 dollars, I used two twitter ad-campaigns, one with keywords, the other to boost follows.

I received an additional 50k impression of the 2 days I used it on that budget, and received about 50 new followers.

Pros: I like that you can be extremely specific about the categories, choose specific tweets to promote, and to which audience you would like them directed.

Cons: I really think it is not worth the money for the amount of exposure I received, I kept getting notifications that I needed to have a higher budget to make an impact.

Consensus: I think it is moderately effective, but it depends on the topic, and the way posts are promoted might generate a ton of impressions, but not a ton of engagement. You may be better off using other techniques. However, if you have a larger budget and you tend to pick appropriate tweets to promote I think it can be pretty effective.

My assessment of your budget: Spend the $20 somewhere else.

~Hope this helped~

Don't go to twitter ads unless you have at least $500++ to test things out and see how it works. Also if it is just for branding (getting exposure for your blog or info site) then it's probably not really worth it. Also if you are not using a tracking software, forget about it - hitting a possitive ROI% this way would be a true miracle.

Thanks everyone for the replies..

+1 man! Exactly what I wanted to know.. Cant thank enough!

No, Facebook ads is 80% better , I spend $50 on twitter ads and twitter was charging me $1.05 per follower.

Holy crap! That's useless..considering the fact that 40% of the twitter users never composed a tweet..
you check most famous accounts like ones with 1M followers eg engadget's account, what you see is 1M followes but on their posts they get really few RT's and Favorites.. I wonder if they get any traffic from there or not.

In my honest opinion..it isn't. If you're a regular twitter user following your friends and stuff. You tend to not even look at the ad that's right in front of your face. You automatically skip it

0.09$ Per follower here.

Also

Twitter tells you how many people will see the ads. It's right next to where you select your bid!
