Let's start with length. Of course, few headlines will be six words long in total. Content length 700 - 1000 words count will be fine. And get some social signals too..

I believe the longer the article the better, however I've seen pages ranking with little to no content. Question is how much are you willing to spend on SEO.

Neil always prefer Lon tail content (1000+ words count) too..

If you want some reference points, just do a word count on top 10 serp results and average it out.

Aside from the size of articles you need to be sure you vary the length. All 400-450 words is a bad thing I feel. But in general I like more content than less.

It doesn't matters actually. You could make the articles to be attracted by targeted audience.
IMO, 300+ word count is enough and it should be relevant to the topic.

I think it's mostly depend on search terms you want to rank. For example if you want to rank page just for 1-2 competitive keywords you can do that with almost no content on the page but if you want to get long tail then long article is better way to go.

Have you ever own a quality site?? There's no safe side or target at least 800 words.. Just write write write and don't look at the stats.. Article being shared and liked doesn't have any word count. Its the idea that counts when writing quality content for your own site

Quality doesn't mean to be a long ? . People actually rather reading the paragraphs than a 2 pages article. But i think you need to care to 350+ words is a minimum

The best thing about article length is that you could factor in several long tails and LSI thereby bringing in more traffic.
