Heres a few tools im using now that has increased my productivity. Please share the tools that are helping you, i want to know.
AutoHotKey - Create keyboard shortcuts and text shortcuts, Autohotkey is very powerful and its FREE.
Autohotkey does much more than keyboard and text shortcuts but that is all i use it for because that is the easiest functions to use.
example: I type apple - the text apple will erase and turn into whatever text i want it to, now all i have to do is remember a handful of keywords to go about my day sending tons of repetitive emails. (I like adding a number 1 after the keywords so if i have to actually write a custom message i dont accidentlly trigger a autohotkey keyword and it turns that keyword into a big block of text. ) I can also assign hotkeys to do simple commands like visit a website or open up a specific file in my computer which is the one i use alot, i have wasted alot of time shifting through files to find the correct one, now i just assign hotkeys to files i open everyday.
iMacros (For Firefox Browser)- Record your mouse and keyboard clicks and automate your work. iMacros is free and very easy to use, very user friendly with lots of tuturioals online. If you find yourself doing a certain task everyday you need to stop wasting your time, and use imacros to automate it for you. example: I created an iMacros that goes to my email account and deletes any unwanted unread emails i receive daily, now before i login into my email i run the iMacros and when i visit my email, i dont have to cherry pick which emails i want to open and read because all the crap i dont want to read is deleted.
StayFocused (For Chrome Browser) - Do you find yourself wasting your time on certain websites like youtube, or blackhatworld? Well with stayfocused you can limit how much time you have on those websites, just add the websites you want to limit your time on and it will allow you to visit all the websites on the list for a total of 15min , not 15min each site, 15min total. Of course you can raise the time limit if you feel you need to but everytime you do multiple popup windows show up shaming you lol which actually is effective believe it or not.
Ditto Clipboard - Copy and paste is something i use alot so this tool is very helpful if you are like me. It saves everything you copy so you are not limited to copy and pasting 1 thing at a time. I have mine set to save the last 100 things i copied and i can access that list with a click of a button exactly where my cursor is pointed at, but i have mine set so that the last 5 items copied have their own assigned hotkey to paste. So now i dont use ctr + v , i use the assigned hotkeys and i can paste the last 5 things i copied without opening any additonal windows.
Checker Plus for Gmail (For Chrome Browser) - I always would have a tab open with my gmail account or always had to open a new one to check if i received any new emails. This tool is simply awesome, it gives you instant notifications when you received a new email, you can access your gmail account from your toolbar. This one is a must have if you are a gmail user, also im sure there is similar tools like this for Firefox so dont be discouraged if you dont use Chrome. If you dont use Gmail i suggest looking into a similar tool that will work for the website you are using. This tool definitely increases productivity.
LastPass - Save all your usernames and passwords in 1 location and login to any website in 1 click. I cant imagine going a day without using Lastpass, i remember the days i would have a notebook with all my passwords and had to type them manually LOL.
Adblock - It seems that only about 300million people have downloaded this software but there is over a billion people who have and use the internet, that means there is alot of suckers who still are dealing with popup ads, annoying flashing banners, video ads and much more annoying crap that definitely does not help increase your productivity.
