Not a very friendly forum

OP, anyway most of those journey threads go nowhere from the starting point. So (please) understand why some members would send a little PM to ask how you are doing... Most of their journies begin with exciting things, but then they forget all about their journey, rather conviniently when seemingly their vehicle hits a dead wall, AND then these writers vanish and keep the co-traveling members (the thread followers) feel abandoned.

On BHW, many members have began their journey on a high note like you, and then abandoned the threads suddenly. Members on those threads who have shown sufficient interest, shouldn't at least be allowed sufficient courtesy to mention a reason for the abandonment?!

A polite post saying that you couldn't or wouldn't go on with the journey for whatever reasons would have made YOUR readers understand... but then who really cares for their feelings anyway?!

One or two members might actually send a PM or write on the thread, and ask if everything is OK with the journey-maker and ask why the journey has been abandoned abruptly, the same way the accused member wrote to you. But you came up with this thread as an answer... Now who is more rude to whom?

If this is how senior members and jrvips treat people then this really isn't a very friendly forum at all.

I hadn't logged on in a few weeks until today and I found this from macdonjo3 in my inbox



Never spoken to this guy in my life, yet he feels the need to message me with a very rude pm title of "another failure", then follows up telling me I'm someone slaving at a day job.

I deal with business people every day, and I've never met anyone with so much time on their hands that they're pm'ing strangers on a forum to pick fights over their supposed success/income.

I could be a millionaire or I could be someone struggling at a day job. Why would jrvips on a forum like this think it's appropriate to attack someone who's not made it on their own yet anyway?

This kind of mindless attack on people who haven't had success yet sickens me. We should be supporting newbies, not attacking them.

The only thing I can think of is that macdonjo is nothing more than a poser who's unhappy with his own failures, so looks for others to troll. His close to 4000 posts since nov 2009 would seem to back this assumption up. There's just far too much to do when running a business to have time to make 4000 posts on one forum alone.

I thought I'd share this with everyone to see what the response is like. How people respond will tell me if the forum as a whole is like macdonjo, or if this is actually a serious place.

No need to publicise really. While it can suck sometimes, If you have an issue with a PM or post, just report it and we'll sort it swiftly.
