Microsoft Announces Windows 10, Skipping Windows 9

Microsoft on Tuesday announced a brand-new Windows operating system. During a special event today in San Francisco, Microsoft officially announced Windows 10. One major change is that Windows 10, launching to the public in 2015, effectively does away with the "Metro" tile interface from Windows 8.

Windows 10 Could be a Revolution for Microsoft.

This actually looks pretty good. Things I like

- View feature similar to Expose on Mac
- Windows 8 apps can run on desktop, and they look very good too
- Nice start menu that does the job

Overall it seems like a nice improvement over Win8.

Hard to get past that haircut but after watching the video it looks like they're just fixing all the "down your throat" improvements they "thought" they could force on everyone with Windows 8.

So I guess they're missing their September 2014 release of Windows 9 as promised.

With Microsoft the more things change they more they stay the same. I think they've missed every release date they've ever promised.

As a computer business we still get calls almost daily asking us to downgrade Win8 computers to Win7. Change is difficult for some of the older generation that just wants a new computer and wants it to look and feel like their old one. It looks like Win10 will accomplish that although a couple years too late.

Actually seems pretty good to me. I still prefer the Windows 7, but 10 seems to work out most of the problems with the stupid Windows 8.
