Hello BHW!

As many that have come before me and will come after, I am a lurker who has been studying the internet marking game for some time now.

This will be my humble story where I will fall down many times as I attempt to learn & create the "perfect" army of Amazon affiliate niche websites. I will then focus on the successful sites.

I am in a position where I have roughly 20 hours a week to dedicate to my hobby & new found passion. I'm a young male fresh out of school with debt and working full time to support myself as I am on my own. I am hoping this will open doors in my life I never thought possible.

I've always made websites for fun, messed around with FTPs, bots and proxies during my gaming years as a teenager. I really dominated with those tools and I realized I could be putting that energy and time into Internet Marketing instead of playing video games -- making money out of something that comes fairly naturally to me.
(banging head on the wall from trail & error+studying nonstop = naturally)

Skillset & my person toolbox so far:

-Graphic Skills
-Basic HTML / Linux skills
-~1 year of SEO/IM passive experience
-VPS with LAMP
-Wordpress Theme & Plugins
-Scrapebox
-LTP
-SENuke
-Proxies (60 private, 100+ fast & reliable public, scanning thousands but still figuring out how to make the scanning work reliably.)
-Captcha Solving Service

What I've done so far:

Setup
-Aged domain (purchased 2+ years ago, just started building it, PR0, not ranked)
-Purchased VPS
-Installed LAMP
-Installed Wordpress
-Installed Theme (Review/Store)
-Installed plugins (Google analytics and things of that nature)

Now I have my own website hosted for about $7 a month, I'm not sure if this is better than host gator but for now, it's a good learning stepping stone. I think its best if I host it on my own vps if I'm planning on having ~20 websites, am I right?

Website is live, whatever content I had is posted.

Content
-5000 words of unique quality content posted to site (Fiverr + me manually reviewing and editing)
-Custom Images (royalty free niche related images + my photoshop skills to make it appealing)
-Added products from Amazon (buy from me!)
-Have all of mine & competitions keywords (including long tail)

To-Do:
-Web 2.0 Profiles & Manual Posts
-Videos for promotion
-Have a 3rd party do an on-page SEO check over to find out what my newbie self missed
-Articles for link building & blog posts
-Automate web 2.0 activity
-Automate & drip feed backlinks on many levels, being careful with whats pointing to the $ite.
-Figure out which software to use for backlinks (have SENuke, but interested in Money Robot, GSA, xr and UD -- still really not sure what's best.)
-Purchase a spinner (SB Article tool spinner or TBS?)

Feedback and brutally honest constructive criticism always welcome!
Am I missing anything?

Hope I could get a good start my first time around and give back to this great community.

Yours truly,
Junglist

Nothing to criticize yet.

Thank you KamBhai, appreciate you taking the time.

Sounds like a great plan.

Do you create one Amazon site focusing on one specific niche or general niche or multiple niche?
How about your keyword competition in SERPs?
Average price of the item you promote?

I bet you're going to create an excellent site.

Wishing you good luck buddy!

Thanks for dropping by Lelou00, appreciate the kind words.

Do you create one Amazon site focusing on one specific niche or general niche or multiple niche?
For my first site I will be focusing on just one niche because it's not something of great interest.
If it takes off, I will continue to expand. I think this will be my method for most of the websites to ensure I'm putting eggs into the right baskets.

How about your keyword competition in SERPs?
It's medium competition, under 40 in Long Tail Pro, some of the top 10 sites are really weak on the subject and only have 1 article, with a more authority site on other subjects.
I'm hoping with a decent amount of content and back linking they will see my site as greater value. I must say the social signals are fairly easy to catch up to as well.
That being said, I'm not going for #1 off the bat, I'd like to rely on other sources of traffic at first to see what I need to focus on outside of SERP.
It gets 50,000+ monthly searches locally.

Average price of the item you promote?
Anywhere from $25 all the way to up $300 -- depends on the quality. It also has accessories which is a bonus.
I'd like to have a variety of high priced niches and low priced niches to help grow the commission rate.

Hey you, I'm doing the same and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your journey. Keep it up man and don't stop. What exactly do you need a VPS on a website for? and what is LAMP? ty

Thank you Fish;
VPS is to host the website.
Google "LAMP stack" -- it will explain everything in detail. tl;dr it's a way to make your VPS a webserver.

Good luck with your journey. If you can put in 20 hours a week, you will definitely find success.

I personally like the VPS idea as a VPS is a lot faster in my experience.

Yeah managing your own VPS is something you should master in this business.

Thanks, should do that:

-Updated design to funnel sales
-Started web2.0
-On page SEO in progress
-Slowly adding images to articles
-Scanning for proxies, going to be doing a huge targeted backlink campaign.
