Looking for a bit of help re: 301 re-direct

First time doing a 301, but am a little unsure exactly how to do it.

Is this right? Buy domain, host domain, put relevant content on homepage, wait for indexing then re-direct via....(?)

No its:

1. Buy a Niche Relevant, old, already have good backlinks domain.
2. 301 Re-direct it.
3. Voila

Yes you can do it that way or a straight up 301 from Godaddy or whatever your registrar is. Personally when I am doing churn and burns, I tend to use 5 - 10 hosted and 5 - 10 straight up 301's, depending on the comp of the keyword, sometimes even more.

You don't need to have content and wait till it indexes rather just buy a domain (with backlinks) from a registrar which allows 301 redirect without needing it to be hosted elsewhere.
