Things you need to rank a site...

Hi all

I've got some high quality content that I'm willing to create site on, and I believe the niche is quite competetive.

But stepping back for a second, and forgetting about just creating a site by looking at keyword competetiveness....


Could someone tell me the optimum procedures for ensuring a websites articles get ranked as optimum as possible?

The articles are high quality, and I believe unique however before I start my wordpress and publish articles and find in 9 months they are still page 15 of Google, how can I ensure that I have set up my site in its best position to rank or what do I need to do in order to rank the articles? (bearing in mind that a new site is essentially un-discoverable!).

I've read a few SEO books, but I still can't quite get the picture.


Could anyone help at all? It'd be greatly appreciated!.

Besides content aka SEO on page, you still need backlinks aka SEO off page for grabbing top ranking on Google.

Think about how to acquire high quality backlinks toward your blog / site.

I think it would be difficult for you to get ranked with only content. It may also take relatively long time. You should also create some backlinks on high PR relevant sites. For content you have to create high quality unique content.
