I've just thrown together a new website (and by thrown together I literally mean 400 words spread across 3 pages). Now, the URL is an EMD for a certain type business in my local area. Since it's an EMD, putting the kw into Yahoo/Bing brings the site up onto page 7 which isn't too shabby for a site that had it's pages published two days ago. Out of interest I plugged the same KW into Google.com and my site is on page 3, and if you give it a slight variation its on page 6.
Likewise, on google.co.uk, the site is on page 12 for it's main kw. Bearing in mind that it's only been two days this is fairly impressive.
The way to try and cheat the system and thus get leads is pretty simple. I searched for a business in an area. Let's just say you lived in New York and you wanted a carpet cleaner. This would come back with a shit load of results. However what I've found is that if you had a keyword of best new york carpet cleaners, Adwords would come back with 0 searches and 0 competition since there isn't enough data on on it. Despite this, people still search for it.
You could then purchase the domain of bestnewyorkcarpetcleaners and go about ranking it fairly easily and then charge X amount for three businesses to take advertise on your site. Go for ones that are on page 2 or 3, and even better if they're using adwords.
So you can start journey before me.
Fast positive SERP in google means over-optimized content and/or over optimized backlinks profile (or ~0 competition) - this is what we need for yahoo. Disagree for "cheat the system" as my understanding. We just optimize the site better than others, because they searching for google rankings.
I see you still do it with google in mind and I think you skip some of my recommendations to escape penguin and panda. Correct? You can send me PM with the site and will try to give back some suggestions.
Have some people that use YBN (yahoo bing network) instead adwords so you can contact them too.
Have a niches with 0 searches in adwords, but the business owners are ready to pay $100's per lead.
I'm actually trying to rank 3 websites for yahoo,I've added enough of content(i think) like 5 pages of it, added some back links and stuff, all of them got on page 2, but they're not moving anywhere else for almost 4 weeks now...what do you think could that be?
if you can, just PM me, what do you think about it? or what do you think I'm missing? any advise will help...![]()
I'll be going down the Y/B route as well, but by having a ranking in Google (even for a short while) it would mean being able to charge more before it drops off the front page.
@RVit, use social signals as well to blast the fuck out of it.
Yeah, if you build the site up at a nice, slow pace and get it onto page 1 of Google as well as page 1 for Y/B then you can make a killing from this. Case in point, there's still no links to my site and yet it's now on page 2 of Y/B, position 1. In the last 24 hours it's jumped 5 pages. Ideally, by tomorrow I could start selling space on my site.

The spun content will ranks in yahoo, but google will possibly deindex the domain for poor spam one day. When google deindex a site yahoo and bing do the same almost instant.is it okay to use spin content before it get on top?
