Hey guys. I just released my third app this week. Third game. The first two didn't even hit 1,000 downloads. I own a domain for my company which is basically just a site with a support link.. don't know too much about seo etc. I've read a bunch lurking around but I really want to break 5k downloads at least this time. Here has what I have been doing

Tweet from company account
Twitter from game account
Reply to users who tweet about having no apps to play
Post on my personal Facebook Twitter instagram (couple thousand people)
Word of mouth
Post on forums

That's basically it. I have a 50$ Facebook advertising credit and plan on using that, but until I learn more about SEO, is there anybody who could help? Like does anyone actually have packages for advertising apps or something.

Thanks for replies.

If you want to get great results you will need to put a great investment forward.

You have several ways to do this; one is to rank your game in the app stores, however, doing this alone is not going to give you great results. Mix this together with a solid digital marketing campaign, get a good budget and run a campaign divided into direct and indirect marketing; direct will give you straight up results, so you can invest a lot heavier here. Start an SEO campaign, video marketing and image marketing campaign at the same time.

If you do all that, you will get your website seen by a target audience who will download your game for as long as the site is properly laid out.

Got no money? Tough world... get posting in forums, related YouTube videos and so on. When you got no money to invest, you got time, so put as much as possible, make the right moves and you'll reach your goals.

Reyone has given you some great advice here. A Facebook advertising campaign should be able to bring you more downloads. Maybe you can try to create some viral content that will bring more eyes to your app.

You're on the right track. You could put some sort of "Share to unlock more stuff" feature or something in the app, to encourage viral-ness.

I'd stay away from SEO in this case, personally. Because how many people do you know that search for their apps anywhere but the app store?

agree with treeofl1.

Also, make sure you include a "share your top score with your buddies" kind of feature. Also, give them coins/points for sharing your game to fb/twitter/etc.

I have a little bit of cash I can throw at this. I mean no reward without risk.. I've already spent a buttload on the apple license google play license etc. so whats a little bit more. You think buying a fiver video review and starting a youtube campaign and maybe a vine viral video about it would be a good way to start?

I currently have a feature where the in game currency is unlocked for sharing. I could edit it more so that it is more involved with the sharing.. Candy Crush kills this type of marketing. Guess I have to start working on update 2.

You are already doing well, however try to also identify the main keywords people would use to search for your app type and try ranking on search engines to improve your visibility.

ObjectiveC, have you looked into other social networks like snapchat?
