Where do I even start?

Basically i'm at a stage where I've got the interest of starting up websites and eventually building an empire of niche websites, I've contacted someone here at BHW to make me a niche website, but I have no clue how to "backlink", "SEO" and all that other BHW lingo haha!

Is there a website, video or blog/page I should look at to learn a bit more about IM?
Help would be SOOOOO greatly appreciated!

Well, if you have no clue about SEO, watching a video or reading a blog won't probably get you far. You need tons of experience to come out as a winner at SEO and that's really not something easy, or at least I think it isn't. Also, I think there is more extensive info about SEO here on BHW than you would usually find in blogs and videos.
Just my two cents.

I appreciate the sarcasm and all, but I did say page... I never once said I wasn't interested in learning from BHW members, I would love to, given the vast amount of knowledge this forum's community has.

I've been around for under a month and I bet a few people have posted IM guides or SEO guides, but you guys have been around long enough, hence why I was asking for help.

I have no problem failing and learning from those mistakes, but I would think having basic knowledge of IM would be pretty vital. Otherwise you'd be making silly mistakes left, right and centre, but you wouldn't even know what mistakes they were.

I mean i've learned a little bit so far, but in terms of backlinking and HOW to rank your page, i'm completely oblivious.

I'm just coming back after a long layoff, have to learn a lot all over again, so I immediately found your question attractive.

I've found the best place to start is with the psychological adjustment that learning this stuff requires.

The first is that beginning to learn any complex technical process is like trying to get a drink of water bu shoving a Dixie Cup in front of a fire hose; massive and excess overload is inevitable.

The second is to remember the difference between the responses of the Newbie and the Experienced when both are exposed to learning new tasks.

The Newbie thinks "Oh my God! This is so complex and overwhelming. I can't even learn where to start. This is impossible." Then the Newbie concludes "I'll never learn it."

Whereas the Experienced things "Oh my God! This is so complex and overwhelming. I can't even learn where to start. This is impossible." Then the Experienced concludes "Same old panic as the last time I tried to learn something this complex. But I'll learn it."

In other words, don't let the initial feeling of hopelessness grind you down. EVERYBODY goes through it no matter how much experience they have.
