I've been planning to start my authority blog for several weeks, and yesterday I finally created it. I will be running this blog in order to get accepted to Adsense affiliate program and to earn some money (hopefully). It is all new for me because I was never running a website on my own, and I think that there is still a lot what I have to learn.

For now I spent $7,99 on domain and $0,05 on host (99% discount FTW).
Income: $0,00
(will take some time to get AdSense on my website)

I don't know how to measure my visitors, so I'll just use info from Google Analytics: 60 sessions yesterday and I only posted 1 post.

Link to website (google pathtomakemoney), can't set links yet :|

All kinds of suggestions are welcome. :)

Good start, some quick advice:
- get those WordPress hints out of there as soon as possible "You can use WP menu builder to build menus"
- get an image of yourself up there - you are the authority, you are the brand, promote your own image (not some stock photo of a guy with a megaphone).
- show more of your content on the frontpage without having to click "read more" : Google likes to see a higher wordcount on the frontpage anyway.

... keep up the effort! and good luck.

Thanks for your feedback. Honestly, I don't have any picture of me which could be treated as quality picture but I'll try to search any find one (don't have many to choose from haha).

I will change that top menu, just not sure what to include there.
And about length of posts, I was trying to find that in settings but I can't. Could you give me a hint? // nvm I found it

What are best tools to follow my progress on Google? Right now I'm using Traffic Travis. Also, google is no longer showing 60 sessions, looks like there were only 30 yesterday.

Great first moves, don't worry about the income for now it will come with time ! :]

Content on my blog will be money related, freelancing advices, reviews, and possibly some freebies later on - all depending on what do people want.

Little update from me:

Right now I have 3 posts on my blog, google says I have 142 sessions

Today I will work on getting About/Privacy policy page so I can apply for Adsense. Any suggestions?

Keep in mind it's also including your own visits to your site. If you are working on your site from multiple computers that can add up to a lot of views, i made that mistake early on. There are plugins for the different browsers to block your own visits from being tracked if you are interested. If you know your IP address you can cross reference it with the IP's visiting your different pages to get an idea of how many of those views are actually you. If you have a dynamic IP it will be difficult though.

As for Privacy Policy's, there are many free generators, just search for one. Keep in mind that tens of thousands of pages will also have used the same generator though, in case you are worried about having duplicate content. Not sure how much google compares things like privacy policies though.

I'm only using my computer to access the page, but I don't think that anyone found by searching - I was pretty much posting the link to Facebook and similar pages just to get some people on my site. However, I did create posts on 2 blogs (I reffered it to a page, not a site, not sure if that is correct).

Generated privacy policy will do fine, I just want to get accepted to Adsense and then later on to start on MNS. :)

Remove your blog address from op. It'll hurt you when start earning money.

OP, your blog is a Money Making Blog and you haven't made any money.
People won't stick around unless you are detailing your journey with in depth reports and have case studies etc.
The niche is very competitive, so good luck.

I actually made some money, got my first payment from Elance ahaha ... will write a review about it soon.

I applied for AdSense and added those ad blocks on my website - the theme just doesn't fit for adsense. New theme has been added and I like it more than the previous one (it's much wider). Hopefully I'll be accepted soon. :)

Adsense accepted me, yay (had only 3 posts on website).

I am using Hostwinds and I can say that I'm very happy with the performance and support. I also added a 99% off coupon on my website (check left side of the blog).

Oh congrats you got your adsense approved. I have tried many times but I am not successful in getting my adsense account approval. Do you have tricks to share with me for adsense approval?
Congrats and keep going.

I feel like I won on a lottery right now haha.

First click on my ads! I earned €0.05 what is little but still nice to see. And RPM based on 76 page views is €0.66
Just to confirm something, that doesn't mean I earned €0.66 - it means that I will get around €0.66 when I get 1000 views, right?
