Am i the only one who thinks disabling fonts.googleapis.com is a good idea? since after all google could use to to see how many visitors we are getting, how long the visitors are staying on our site...etc which doesn't seem like much, but think about it from google's perspective, a new website launches, then out of nowhere gets 100s of backlinks even though it has like 10-20 unique hits.

No idea. Google knows a lot of sh****t that we don't know. I don't mess with them at all..

Linotype and Adobe fonts are much cooler than Google's types.

Is God going to penalize us for doing BlackHat SEO? What kind of paranoid shit is this. That's ridiculous, you're being paranoid.

Another paranoia-based thread. Google can track you no matter what you do to cover your footprints. So just go about your regular internet marketing activities and stop worrying about how much Google knows about you.

I would say that tracking via fonts or even javascript in that way would be too inaccurate due to browser caching.
Eg. If you visit a site that loads a font and then go to another that uses the same one your browser wont need to query google for it. Its loaded from the cache so the visit wouldnt be logged imo

Cookies could be another matter though.

Google knows more about your, more than you think you know,so its better to avoid worrying too much about google, since google doesn't worry about you at all :p

You cant do much. It is quite late already.
If you answer Yes to most of the questions then google already have tracking mechanism to track the things you said.
1) Your visitors are using google chrome
2) Your visitors are having chrome toolbar in other browsers
3) Your visitors are routed through or using GOOGLE DNS 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

If your client using google between them and your server, you cant do much already. I stopped thinking about this too much. However I was like you couple of years before
1) I don't have google analytics in my pages
2) I don't use chrome for my day to day searches. Only for different fb and twitter accounts and some incognito usage
3) I don't have google+ or scripts used in my pages

Now lately For point 3 I started adding google+ scripts and now I don't care much about google spying. You cant stop them. so no point fearing about google too much. However, I still did not add google analytics.

Google fuckin knows every damn activity of urs on net
There is no internet without google these days
Thanks to marketers who are focusing only on one engine while other smart seors are raking money on other engines

Relax brah....

Google does many things we don't know. There is a lag time until people figure it out.

Only google and its engineers know to what extent these are being used. However, We all can ONLY assume things and correlate based on it's old history.
