Need help with BYOD issue

Not sure where to post this so I will post here.

I work in a school as a sub. I have a password and username to go online in the media center but if I bring my own laptop they have a "Bring your own device, BYOD" login page for full time teachers and students,my password and username won't work. Any way to get around it? Thanks.

You work in a school, but rather than speak to the system admin or their tech support you want to know how to bypass their security lol

The reason they have such policies in place is to protect their network.

Why don't you use a workaround instead since you are not allowed on their network?

Turning your phone into a hotspot is about a 2 click deal and you'll have the internet anywhere you want.

Of course your username and password won't work, you're just a substitute teacher and they have that BYOD login for full-time teachers and students. Why can't you accept their policy? I understand you might need or want to use the Internet, but as W130SN stated already, they just want to protect their network.

Why don't you use a workaround instead since you are not allowed on their network?

It is called tethering.

Then you need to get one if you want internet at the school... look, they do not want you accessing their internet for whatever reason so you have to look at other options.

Creating a hot spot with a smart phone is probably the easiest way to do that.

On my phone, a LG something or other, it is a two click option, tap the icon, tick the box and in about 30 seconds I have a secured (although the security is weak) wireless connection available to me.

You can do the same.
