PayPal hints at Bitcoin integration

Last year, the owner of PayPal said he owns Bitcoin and likes it. PayPal has been experimenting with Bitcoin lately, and rumors are they are working with Coinbase.

Such an interesting video. Half a year ago I was trying to buy bitcoins by paypal but it was too hard. I of course understand the risk involved, it's too easy to win the chargeback nowdays.

The rate will be really high when the paypal started accepting bitcoin.

I agree. Paypal, the company that seems to want everything including a DNA sample involved with Bitcoin, I don't believe it. How are they going to verify you pee sample with something that's suppose to be anonymous? I left Paypal years ago and haven't been back. They're just plain too nosey.

I also think that it will increase the price of BTC. But, I haven't found anything like this. Today's rate is 1BTC=$464 which is less than yesterday.

That's not true at all. BitCoin has legitimate uses, for example, I can send BitCoin to my sister in the UK and instead of using PayPal hardware to process the transaction, it uses the miners hardware, therefore making the transaction fee cheaper.

Distributing the server load of transaction processing and verification across several users that aren't using their computer at the time makes complete sense. PayPal would be stupid not to jump on to BitCoin. We all saw what happen to Kodak.

My fear is they will incorporate some kind of transaction fee. Paypal isn't going to do something if they can't make money off it. CoinBase fees are super low considering the benefits. My other fear would be PayPal's compliance with big brother... Would possibly give the government an open door to your BTC wallet and blockchain transactions. I don't believe "most" transactions are for shady purposes, not anymore at least. Most transactions are actually trades made by robots or day traders on platforms like BTC-E. Sure, the road gets a good bit of activity, but I wouldn't personally call transactions at the road "shady" ... I'd just call it preference, which IMHO we should be entitled to. I don't see what the big deal is, just so long as they aren't harming anyone or anyones property, if they want to smoke some dope, let em.irate:

hahaha glad I wasn't the only one... I was wondering if there was some hidden subliminal messages in there with how fast they had it going. Different, that's for sure.
