Ranking a Google Play page on Google SERPs?

Say I have an app, nobody searches for my terms on the Google Play Store itself... But people do search the terms on Google, most related terms are over 1000 searches. How hard/easy would it be to get a Google Play app ranked first for a keyword which is in the name of my app?

The keyword is quite competitive. As an example let's say I'm targeting "Fast Cars" the other sites are very high authority but optimized for "FastCars" mostly. I know Google Play has tonnes of authority too so perhaps that won't matter? If I manage to rank my Play page first I should get some free customers with a 3000 a month search KW... Especially considering it's a desperate buyers niche!

What's the best strategy to go about this. Would the Penguin algo ever slap a Google.com property? Lol...

I have never done this personally but i made one research for a friend of mine and came to conclusion that you must submit your application to other sites that offers publication of Android applications. Also good churn and burn parasite can be done here and blasted with GSA. or maybe invest in several sources for installs and reviews and build authority to the appication via store..

Thanks for the idea. Any ideas on ranking the play page itself? For example if I Google "Gun Club 2", a play.google.com page comes up first. That's where I want my app to be when a certain keyword is searched.

You can rank the Google Play page just the way you rank parasite pages on web 2.0 sites. Seeing as Google Play has a lot of authority, it should be easier than ranking a niche site for the same keyword.
