Keyword Research - Confused ????

I've been researching various keywords over the past two days and what I find confusing is the results I get. I used two tools, SEO Book Keywords Tool and Google AdWords Keyword Tool and the results are confusing, very confusing.

I've found a really nice keyword where SEOBKT shows me that the keyword gets around 280 daily searches from Google whereas GAWKT shows me that the same keyword only gets around 390 monthly searches which I found very confusing. I'm not sure which tool is correct because WordTracker KeywordTool too shows a similar figure to SEOBKT.

Right now I don't know if I wasted my time or not because I decided to base my keyword research results on the SEO Book Keywords Tool. So could anyone lighten me up on this?

Maybe you could test market samurai or micronichefinder .

Pick a keyword tool and live and die by it...

If you try to find keywords that match up in all of the keyword tools it is likely that you will climb to the top of your house and jump off head first.

If you REALLY WANT TO KNOW. Set up a small test campaign with Adwords and see how many impressions/clicks you get.

If the keyword looks easy competition wise, throw up a quick Web2.0 site or even a self hosted WP Blog. Even if the keyword turns out to be crappy, you still have another site that you can use for backlinks

MicroNicheFinder pulls out it's keywords from Google AdWords KeywordsTool. Same result.

Broad or match? could be difference in software.....that's not very many hits at any stroke%^#. if it had 4 more zeros then you could get excited. As to keyword tools, ive bought and tried most. in my humble noob opinion the best is Google key word tool. Think about it. They have the whole stack, full deck, and they suggest what everyone else is typing in......how can you go wrong? Amit from PPC Classroom says the same and he makes like 100k a week in ppc.

Yeah true say. It was actually the exact. You said to stay with the Google Keyword tool but I dunno because once again an issue arises. I found a keyword that gets approx 90k monthly hits but SEOBKT & WordTrackerKT showed that it only got around 40 hits daily. So like WTF? lol
