I have used hostwinds for over a year before I cancelled my account. They do offer a good service and the customer service is their to try to help you.
The only reason why I cancelled is that I was on the lowest plan, and they had a server crash and I lost all of my data for the past year, and since I don't have the knowledge to reinstall it, I just decided to let it go. I have tried other vpn's and in terms of being able to do the basics that a newbie like me would like to do
this was a user friendly service.

I ordered a windows vps with 1gb ram upgrading cores to 2 especially for GSA.


GSA is running OK with this setup. I may upgrade the ram to 2g later.

Excuse me while I go a bit fan boy here but I have moved my websites to four different hosts recently. It was so easy task to move 10 website from a different VPS to Hostgator, then to AWS and then to HostWinds. I am glad to say that my websites are on HostWinds to stay now. I import allot of products from Amazon and was testing to see which was the fastest. I didn't time the import speeds but HostWinds was the clear winner.

I can't comment on the support because I haven't needed to use it, the server has worked perfectly since the day I signed up.

Don't try to use GSA with them. The sales people say it is. But after few months they will shut your vps down saying DDOS attack. I am facing trouble with them now.
