My Bing PPC Journey (First Journey!)

Hey everyone,

I've been really busy the last few days, and also just got back from camping.

I'm going to be putting out my update in the next few days, but am going to answer the questions so far in this post.

Good Luck OP! Subbed!

I'm also attempting bing ads!

Can you give anymore information about your strategy with your email list? Are you sending your subscribers informative emails around the niche, or are you simply trying to sell them on the product (or various products in this niche)?

I currently have two ad groups, one of them is direct linking to the affiliate offer using a masked domain I purchased.
The second ad group is sending the clicks through to two landing pages I built myself, they have some information regarding the niche, and a free PDF download/guide I put together myself as well as incentive to submit their email.
My email list is currently at 115 subscribers.

Good Luck. Hope your success.

But im confused how you running ads campaign with direct affiliate link or forwarded domain in bing ? they dont allow affiliate links or forwarded domain.

Thanks for the kind words!

As far as I know (I initially read it in the thread with the guy making 30k/month with bing ads), direct linking is aloud as long as the landing page meets Bings guidelines.

I haven't had any issues direct linking yet!

False. Plus bing is more scale-able as you can promote as many products as you want.

Re tracking - OP, look into prosper202. It's fairly straightforward and easy to use.

May I ask the countries you are targeting (if the product is in english)? UK, US, Canada are obvious ones, but many miss out by not including countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, Germany etc...where you get equally good conversions for much lesser CPC (due to less competition).

Mancar

Thanks for the suggestion Mancar, i'll definitely look into prosper202.

Regarding the locations, i'm currently leaving it wide open, I have it setup to target all available locations.
I'm VERY new to PPC, so this could be a massive mistake, but, this is how we learn right?

Sorry if I missed this, but your YT videos are still earning you money?

I know that YT has became a hassle, but I still find it better than bing ads. YT earns you on autopilot, with PPC you have to still tweak, and the best ROI I could get was 200 - 250 %. So you have given up with CB+YT?

I have a few review videos up, and am only currently making money on one of them.

My channel is my personal channel, so automation isn't something i'm wanting to do with it. Perhaps i'll test out a more spammy channel approach in the future, but for now, I only post real, honest & high quality reviews.

I haven't given up on CB+YT, but I only promote products that I find useful for myself.

That's where I'm at right now. No sales, but building a list. Trying the same test setup with one ad group direct linked and the other to a few different LP's that redirect to the CB offer after the user subscribes.

Interested in your next update!

Awesome to hear man, looks like we're in it together!

How's the email list coming along?

I still haven't made any sales either, i'm looking to expand out into more products though.

About 6 subscribers in 32 clicks... the traffic is low low.. I have about 200kw, but going to add more. I also plan on expanding into a few other niches. The one I'm doing right now isn't in an embarrassing and desperate niche which are the one that I do good in SEO wise. So far testing out about 4 landing pages, but I'm going to do some research and see what my next offer is going to be. Maybe CB, maybe a CPA offer.

I'm also trying to get familiar with bing ads, will definitely monitor your thread.
Please make sure to let us know which method works better(customer-mask/forward-affiliate page or customer-custom lander-affiliate page).
Good luck :)

as somebody above mentioned - try other countries if the product is suitable. with one of my campaigns i added " France" just to test and guess what - that turned out to have the best ROI , beating USA/Canada 5-6 times. Like with many things in IM - you never know what will work , if you have the funds - try new things

NICE! Congrats on your success!

Trying to get in to CPA myself but don't really know where to start.
Heard it's quite tough to get in to a CPA network, and then you also have to apply to a paid network for getting traffic (trafficvance or such)?

I'll follow your story to gain more knowledge!;)

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR JOURNEY!!

Any update man? Are you seeing any progress? I made a $53 sale in 21 hops.. so 21 subscribers so far and one sale. Spent $24.50 on PPC. Trying to get the ROI better. My LP is converting at 20%, but it seems the latest one I created is gaining subscribers quickly (short text vs long text using Lead Rocket). Hope you're starting to see some sales!

You just paid $49 for lead rocket or is there a n*u*l*l*ed one?

Congrats on your success man!

I've been extremely busy with my 9-5 and some offline commitments in RL.

My initial two campaigns went very poorly though :(

$100 spent and 0 sales.

I'm going to be starting a new campaign in a new niche, and promoting a product which helps me with a problem that I experience myself, so i'll be making an update on that as soon as I get it up and running.

Thanks for posting, definitely awesome to see people making sales!

Damn, well hopefully you find some success with your new campaign! I feel you with the 9-5. I try to get an hour or so in after work and stay busy on the weekends. Tough juggle. My account is under editorial review now because my landing page broke TOS so I'm still waiting on that to get reactivated and then I'll be creating new campaigns targeting CPA offers.

Learned how to get Prosper202 tracking setup a couple weeks ago so now I can track which KW's are making conversions. Should help tons. Still trying to tweak campaigns and find that winner.

Look forward to your update!

Need to focus on FAILING MORE
thats right failing!
once you know for a fact whats NOT working you will start to find some good and cheap clicks the ones that DO convert
once you find the traffic its only matter of shifting the LP and/or offer to keep going on green numbers

Best of luck

Thanks for the encouraging words Flipz, would you be able to help me out with Prosper?

I tried setting it up with clickbank, but it seemed to me like it CB's API no longer supported integration.

That'd help me tons!

This is promising, i wish you good luck on your journey :) Keep us informed.

Yeah, for sure. I ran into the same issue with CB's API throwing me errors. I learned from this video a different way to do it.

I'll send you my notes this weekend. I'll clean them up a bit so it makes more sense, but basically you get the CB URL with the ?tid= or &tid= (the tracking ID you append) and when setting up a campaign in prosper you add the [[subid]] to the end of the url. Since it's direct linking it's pretty straightforward after that. Prosper spits out a URL and you append the dynamic keyword placeholder {keyword} to the end of the URL and use that for your bing ads link. What it does (you can check your hops in CB) is put a number as the tracking ID. You take that number from CB and enter it back into Prosper and it will show what KW was used. So you just have to see which number converted in your transactions, pop it into Prosper and then you know which KW to increase the bid on.

That's the jist of it, but I'll send you a cleaner write-up since I planned on doing that for my notes anyways. It was confusing to me at first, but after I did it a few times I can now fly through new campaign setups.
