What method do you guys use if you want to monetize in tumblr without NSFW (p.orn)?
Do you guys use SEO, Amazon, PPC, or CPA?
Which is the best?

Tumblr is high traffic... million people are visiting Tumblr monthly.

There are many methods to monetize... affiliate programs and CPA.

For making money in Tumblr, get more targeted followers... and regularly add contents into your Tumblr blog plus hastags.

Darn it came back to my thread and turns out with no answer. Tell me something I don't know.

Just pick something and try it out.

Everyone wants hard and fast answers in this game, but there are none. Try something, does it turn a profit, if so, scale it up.

the PPC game will get you cents, but cents scaled turns into dollars.

Or squeeze users off tumblr to sites you control, where you are not limited by TOS of tumblr. Offer them something for free in return to join your mailing list, then hit them hard with all kinds of offers, whatever you are pushing

Putting ads on a tumblr is not a good idea these days, but people do it. If you can profit before you are banned, fair play, scale it up.

Others go the followers route. Ran a legit blog, get 10s of thousands of followers, then make a post pushing something.

For SEO Purpose and High Pr Blogs.
High Traffic blogs are monetized with adsense.
Didn't try cpa much as they banned my few blogs .Amazon wasn't a good success for me either.
I would go with adsense of a website with .com domain so in future i can sell the domain as well and adsense income in steady or else if you have a settles business monetizing high pr blogs would be a great idea for money making.

Curious about this as I got 55K followers in NSFW blogs and 85K followers in SFW blogs..I'm also looking for better monetization method, especially for non adult traffic. I'm using plugrush and they are paying pennies for clicks..

Always direct traffic to a website and use CPA. Preferably CPAs where they need to send a sms as there are tons of kids on tumblr.
And keep in mind that the niche your into is important. So do some digging and see who are your visitors (age, sex, income, etc).

Most of these questions can be answered by looking. I mean . . . go to Tumblr. Look. It's not rocket science.

As many others have already mentioned here, it's just better to direct traffic to an external website rather than monetizing right away with CPA. Monetizing tumblr can be a pain in the ass, especially if you start losing blogs.

Adsense is great, and I use all the traffic to send it off to my site which is also monetized with other methods. Pretty simple.

Don't adsense ban you if you have multiple websites?

This guy speaks the truth. It's all about taking advantage of that colossal captive market. As long as millions of people will see whatever you have, you can monetize it.

If using the blackhat way. Having hundreds of tumblr blogs and a couple of your site to send them to. Will tumblr give a red flag saying why these handful of tumblr site has blogs pointing to this one site?

Well how many followers do you have? If you have over 100k, your best option is probably to make posts that link out to adsense sites. You can get a lot of clicks if it's interesting content, and if the site is good you can make 3-4 cents per click on your link in the post.

I'm not a huge fan of Adsense for monetizing. Selling posts on your aged, high page rank Tumblr might be a better solution.

As for why Adsense might not work, the average Tumblr user might be immune to Adsense ads and will resist the urge to click ads as most would just prefer to stay on Tumblr rather than going off site.

Well if users didn't click ads, no one would use adsense. I get a 1.5%-3% CTR. That produces 3-4 cents per click, and you can get thousands of clicks per post that you put a link in...

And then you don't have to do all the work of trying to market your blog to sell individual posts.

I don't have many followers, but I have seen blogs that do, and I belieive they use Adsense

Honestly it's kinda hard to make good money on tumblr blogs unless you have hundreds of thousands of views, a lot of your followers stop visiting your page once they follow you

Run several blogs and have them post different content, choose one you want to grow at a time and send all the traffic from all the blogs to that one blog. Put adsense. Rinse. Repeat.

I've been doing this for a while and I make around $120 dollars a month without doing any work because it's all automated. I have around 25k-35k real followers and gain around 2.5k organically a month. I also get around 250k notes a month. And it seems like it's starting to boom, posted something a few days ago and it has 120k notes already...

PM me if you need more help
