Best of luck, subscribed to the thread. I would be interested in where you find the writers as well. I would imagine that it can't be easy to find writers with good english, espacially grammar wise, that would write so cheap. I mean, even when you hire people for a lot of texts for your websites you pay more than what you are paying for the entire book, $30 for 7k words is rly cheap. Would be great if you could share the website.

You have to look for your own writer. There are many people out there. I can't share mine, because I'm planning to give him a lot of work and I don't want to see him distracted :}

So far I have just one sale. That's because my first two books came out of free 5 day period and I'm at the middle of nowhere xD The third book will step in the paid promotion after few hours. I'm excited to see what will happen. When I find keyword that have low competition, I also check that keyword in google planner, if I see ~500 monthly searches, that probably mean 3 times less searches in amazon. So I'm happy with the 150-200 searches on this keyword BUT to appear on #1. I know my covers look good, description is good... so I can expect 1-2 sales per month on book. I don't have the knowledge and the resources to fight with the competition for the high demand keywords. Basically this is my strategy: low keywords, tons of books = passive income. We will see the result.

Can you recommend me the writer, I am looking to give out free ebook on my site for subscribing and the price you are paying is acceptable to me.

When you find writer, I first contact him and giving my best to explain him that I don't want copy/paste content or spun content. I explain for what I need the book and if I like what he can produce, we will have long term business relation ship. But whatever you do, you have to see his skills to see if it fits. Happen to me to refuse to accept book, because it was 65% copy paste. After i have the book, I use avego plagiatus. Works good for me.

OP is not going to give you his writer guys...as far as separating the gems here's a quick tutorial.

1. Draft a contract. Outline all your wants and expectations, be sure to include a plagiarism disclaimer as well as a ghostwriter agreement

2. I personally have never had any success with any writer not from the US. Editing their work is usually more of a job than the whole process of submitting the book. I scrap those immediately

3. You should have asked for samples of work in your contract, read through them and COPYSCAPE them to make sure they aren't someone else's work.

4. Pick the one who writes the best in your opinion and understands your vision.

It's not that hard, but it is a process. No different really than hiring an employee at a real job

Kindle is a numbers game, think like a publisher not a writer. The more books you have the more you make per day.

You are unlikely to write the next bestseller that sells say 10,000 copies per week, but you can write 100 books that sell 100 copies per week.

The key is researching books that sell and creating lots of them.

I research books that will generate me at least $3000 per year each book. Then publish lots of books like that, which sell.

I reached the 150$/day-mark per day with 8 ebooks (+ 1 print book). My best book makes about 50$/day. Its my 4th month as an author and i am happy with that income (i also have other income sources too).

I suggest investing a bit more in the content quality and hire a writer from elance/ odesk etc. It's also a bit more expensive but the quality is way beyond fiverr.

I'm very interested what will sell better: fiction or non-fiction.
That's why I'll outsource 5 fiction books. Two will be thrillers, 3 will be romance. Also bought software "kindle samurai". Doing good research, but I'm not very sure how exactly to "read" it's data. Anyway, I will see the fiction too.

Look at the rankings. Fiction sells better but its harder to wirte fiction books because you have to be creative and have to know how to write good stories. It takes time to become an authority person (whats important in the fiction area to be successfull). If you have talent then try it.

On the other hand: non-fiction is easy to write. Its only a research work and every house wive could do it (so you can outsource the writing work). Your major work is to analyse the store, finding niches and keywords and market your books. And its also easier to build a business around a non ficton niche (other products like smartphone apps, audiobooks, videos, websites and so on). So If you are not a creative person, non fiction could be the better choice for you. But it doesnt let you make so much money like ficton books.

I prefer non fiction because i am better eg. in analyzing the market things, handle the outsourcing part, thinking about other products and so on. It only depends on your personality which way you want to go.

Lets say I'm creative and can handle good stories. I write 5-6k words interesting story and give it to my writer to fix my English, because i suck at it. She write very good and I trust in her. So lets say I can handle the story. What about the research about fiction ? I really struggle on finding good title and sub-title for my books. It's not like I can analyse too much, because people who read fiction don't look for something particular like " how to plant a tree ". They don't know what exactly want to read unless someone told them " hey I found good book, look for "Bla Bla" from Jen Writer". Do I need to count on catchy title, cover and description ONLY ? There must be way to do research for better ranking. No ?

I operate a slightly different model to you, in that I do both fiction and non fiction.

I have found the more difficult a niche you know sells is to get into, usually the better it sells as you have less competition.

Also my daily income is quite fluid as I typically add at least 1 new book per day, so tomorrow I will earn more than today, but as a number it is $1000+ per day, with some selling better than others.

For example 1 book uploaded on Friday has already sold about 100 copies by Sunday.

I research fiction and non fiction the same. The difference is one is factual and the other entertainment, just as Pinger030 says.

But Non fiction, if you hit it, sells bucket loads, my best non fiction title sells 150 copies per day,that book alone makes me about $300 per day. But that is extreme. On average aim for about $5-10 per book per day.

Just checked will probably cross $2000 per day this month.

I just started, still in learning process. I have 3 title published. All non-fiction. So far have just one sale. I guess something is wrong with my keywords or I need more authority on my pen name. I'm not disappointed so far ! I will publish 50~ titles and of don't see steady passive income like 30$/day probably will give up. But until 50 published titles will stick to it.

Basically I read everything, everywhere for KDP and I accept every tip or hint about this !
