Hi everyone I've just bought my first website and I was looking for some pointers on where to get started with the seo thanks

Congrats on your first website. Firstly work on "On-Page Seo" and then once you done everything correctly, start with social networks and then once you finished getting backlinks on social networks, just move on with web 2.0 links and then getting backlinks from forums are also valuable.

Get backlinks from article networks and just move on with getting traffic from classifieds as well.

What kind of a site is it. Is it a niche targeting one keyword or multiple also do you know what is the difficulty of your keyword to rank.

if you know your keywords, start optimizing your site from 'on page' prospective. give it a week or two before you start doing link building, you can off course start with social signals as of now..

Is the website already ranking high for it's target keyword or is it still up and coming?

If the later is the case, you'll need some strong links, small tweaks to your site seo-wise, and regular content publishing.

If the former is the case, you'll still need to do everything mentioned above, but they will require a lower amount of effort and time.

spend more time in keywords research..also divide keywords into long term seo plan and short term seo plan...start with long tail keywords and see how much traffic you are getting and then go to more competitive keywords.

Does your site is in any CMS? Or core html/css site? If it is wordpress then install some plugins such as yoast. Search appropriate plugins according to your cms.

hi it is a user based site where users copy and paste links which take them to my intermission pages with adsense and banner spaces. It is work from home make money etc I know these keywords are competitive so I was thinking about advertising on social media, youtube and classifieds for the time being but if there is a cost effective seo strategy out there ill be willing to put the time in.

I don't really want to add any content atm as the homepage is just a sales and info page which in my view isn't that bad I dont want to add a load of content that will undermine the quality content that will convince the user to sign up or by ad space. I'm just looking for a quick start seo package that will get me going I may add a forum to it in the future for content if you think that is a good idea?

I havbt analysed it yet because my broadband is down. I am on bhw on my phone. The seller suggested that I buy. Info domain names for it and put them on a domain maturing site. Is buying up domain names what everyone is refering to when they talk about focusing on keywords or do they mean high levels of quality content with the keywords in text and pics etc. I just need this clarified and you have lots of stars next to your name. domain parking site

what type of a site is it? if its articles then there is different type of seo targeting and it is just pics or selling or something else then the approach is different
