Ban Begging Threads

Got to put this in place. Another zero poster looking for baby milk on the go at the moment. I have a daughter, the heart says "send babymilk" the old internet heart says "yeah right".

If an old established member known to all had just totalled his benz and lost his wallet which required a taxi fare home. fair enough...but straight up I need breakfast/food etc are just scams.

I like the replies from Wiz and Apricot on recent porn/violent threads about this being a professional forum and this crap is not allowed. The same should apply here.

Agreed. I think there's been one guy asking for breakfast money, who seemed reasonable, and then when he got that he asked 300$ to repair his laptop... Others have been straight out bs threads.

These threads make no sense anymore, and they are multiplying like hamsters in a cage with porn lights and a casting couch.

The ONLY women I have ever known that have run out of Baby formula, have been drug addicts.

No other woman allows that to happen.

When my Son was a baby, there were some tough times but my Wife never let him go hungry.
We would go hungry but our child NEVER.

The likelihood of a begging thread being true is inversely proportional to the number of heartstrings it tugs.

Yes AGREED please put BEGGING on that list :) +1

I definitely agree with this. I rarely post on here, but I do a lot of reading on the site and it's just sad to see people try this crap. When you think about it even if they are legit in need of help how the hell do they have nobody other than strangers to turn to? If nobody that actually knows them will help then that should say it all.

I believe 99.9% of the begging online is nothing more then a bullshit. If I put in a place where I need quick deniro, the last place to look for it would be the internet.

I can't imagine my self sitting on the pc and asking for a few $$ and just doing nothing waiting for a miracle to happen as all of you know there is no quick money on the net.

I agree for all the reasons above, plus another. It's just depressing, whether you believe the stories or not. I don't mean seriously "depressing", but if I'm scrolling through The Lounge looking for a laugh, or just in a good mood for w/e reason, the last thing I want to see is someone asking how they can make $2500 by the end of the week because their electricity just got turned out and they're being evicted in 2-3 days. I mean I like to help people out, and I'll be that most of the people here do as well, but you can't help everyone, and sometimes as lame and cliche as it sounds, life just isn't fair. I would say the occasional guy in a tight spot looking for help is understandable, but then you have to try and figure out what qualifies, and what doesn't, and that's an even bigger headache.

+1 for this idea...

Ban the beggar too (term or full ban, whatever). If the beggar needs charity or alms and needs his/her friends on BHW to know why there is this life-saver need, they can always be telephoned, or be on Facebook, skypes, GTalks, emails, etc., and chat and get serious help from those platforms, but those threads or PMs shouldn't be allowed here -- simply because others would get depressed all out of their pockets needlessly because some other member helped first on a beg-thread. Let's cut out all those psudo cries and the following sympathy tsunamies all together from BHW.

Even a thread asking for donations for a serious humanitarian cause should first get the mod's nod before appearing for public reading, imo, because that method would be used by a scammer for gaining sympathy dollars after the beg threads are banned.

Report them and they will be deleted and warned. Donations are welcome to registered charities and have been cleared with us.

Don't give money to the homeless either. I watched a documentary/undercover show the other evening about beggars on the streets. A massive percentage of them are making a ton of money by begging, then going home to their fancy houses. They make hundreds of thousands a year doing this daily.

A shame for the real homeless people, but if ever I am going to help one again, it will be buying them something to eat and drink, but no cash.

Haha I agree completely. The only time I will ever stop and give someone money is if:
1. I know them and know they are telling the truth
or
2. Theres a homeless person outside near a food joint and I stop in and buy them a meal

well i try to have a witty retort for most occasions , so in the case of begging threads
here is how ide convey i feel about people who beg rather than work.
