Can You Explain - Any expert??

I leeched a nos. of fresh L1 HTTP proxies with port - 9090, scanned with time out 5 sec. Most of them were Us proxies and had not been suspected as proxy IP.
When I went to post to craigslist every time I found "The page cannot be displayed" both in IE and firefox. Same happened with backpage and kijiji but not with gumtree. Some time first page of CL was opened but could not proceed further.

I wish to know the reason ( I have not much knowledge about proxy), please explain.

Thanks "apekillape" for response. You are real help to novice who want to know secret world of proxy and port but don't get any book or guidance.

I used - checker.freeproxy.ru/checker/ then feed the list to "elite proxy switcher" .

Please suggest what I should do?

In general I'd not use the public websites for testing your proxy, they most probably record your proxy and add it to their list. So you reduce reliability of it even more.

Use Charon as ape suggested, you most likely had a non working proxy.
Alternatively you configured your browser wrong (make sure you config a socks proxy as socks and http proxies as http. Also remove all other lines from the proxy configuration window)

Indeed, online checkers are bunk for a lot of reasons. Aside from what JustOne mentioned, they won't be able to check the speed of the proxy relative to your own location, only that of the server doing the check.

Read over my Charon guide (http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...rty-guide-charon-free-good-proxy-checker.html) and make sure to use the option to check against a website. It should give you a much better result.

I really don't think so. You are just connecting to a lot of different destination IP addresses, looks very much the same as you are heavily browsing the Web. The only difference is the destination port number.
If BitTorrent works fine with your IP, you are safe, the first think ISP guys start enforcing strict rules on is P2P.

And you can always thread several proxies to chain, also can check other proxies through already found working proxies. Can chain Socks proxies first, then HTTP-s, and finally CGI proxies, as much as patient you are, because network lag will add up.

i am using proxyfirewall and well works for me.
To test socks5 proxy i choose 60 timeout to verify. lol

Yes I use utorrent client and I download uninterrupted till date.
