Hi blackhatters,

First excuse me for my bad English, doing my best!

My goal here is to publish 50 books in KDP Amazon. I was reading a lot about that in the past month, but I know reading without action won't help me at all.

So far my progress:

- 3 books published - same niche, same pen name. 3500, 6000, 7800 words
- 2 of the books just got out of the free period. Total 600~ downloads. Was using 3 days for the two books. Two days free promotion left, but will use later. Third book is waiting for review, I just published the title.
- GOT ONE SALE already ! - this is the main reason to start journey. I'm highly motivated, because I was not even use the promotions and already have sale. I'm new to this KDP and I don't know if it's good or average to have one sale so fast, but I feel good, I can smell the money.

How I do my researches:

Go to amazon.com, select Kindle Store and start typing keywords in my niche. If I see suggestions while I type, I start to check the competition on those keywords. If I see book with 15+ reviews, I just let it go, I don't have the resources to fight with that competitor. I'm looking for books with less than 5 reviews and rank above 200k. When I find the main title of my book, I'm starting to search for sub-titles. Again same method. At the end my book have main title and at least 3 sub-titles. This ( I think ) will help me with the rank. People will find my book easyer. Of course main title and sub-titles are on same topic =)

The books:

I outsource them. Even If i had the skills to write, I wouldn't do that. I'm not a writer, I'm marketer. Marketers sell, not the writers. I have tested few writers and I found person who will write 7000-7500 words quality books for me - 30$ I can't ask for more, really. I create the covers myself - I like spending time on that. Formating the books alone too. I prefer to spend more time on things I can do and save some $ and invest for books.

Description of the books:

Okay, here is my twist. Was not sure if it's a good idea to share it in public, but here it is. Description contains the keywords, I use all the 4000 characters, etc, etc. This is what everyone do, nothing new here. But I also have created forum about my niche. Inside the book there is link for my other books and for the forum. Also there is link for the forum in the book description. I have spent time and money to create it with original content and really useful information. It's ads free also. I want when people go there ( from the book description ) to see the quality of the information I provide. In this way they will be more interested to buy my books. The ads free is also important, because lets be hones... people don't like ads. Those people read books, that mean they are smart. Reading ANY kind of content boost your brain. So lets pretend those people are smart and have basic knowledge about ads, marketing, etc. They won't like the ads. So ads free. This is my logic - good or bad.

Reviews:

This is the annoying part. It's hard to get quality review. I'm sick of indians who are trying to sell me "quality review" crap. DO NOT buy review from that kind of providers. Avoid fiverr too. What I do is to promote my books is my g+ and asking people to give reviews. It's hard tho. They are lazy. I also go to top reviewers list and look for people with around 1000-2000 reviews, contacting them and asking if they want to give review to my books. It's hard to get review and it's also time consuming doing this. My goal in the free promotion is to get at least 2-3 reviews.

I won't stop until I reach 50 titles in KDP Amazon. I'm looking for tips and suggestions. I will continue read about methods and tricks, but won't stop until I reach my goal.

Wish me luck !

~regards

How do you earn money with this journey thread?

May I ask what site you used to find the writer? I read that iwriter has some quality writers, but the minimum price ($160 for 7000 words I think) was enormous compared to what I've read other people paying for their writers.

Interesting as I am doing much of the same thing. What are you pricing your books at?

Also, are you submitting them to free promotion sites or just running the free promotion alone?

following!

Best of luck, subscribed to the thread. I would be interested in where you find the writers as well. I would imagine that it can't be easy to find writers with good english, espacially grammar wise, that would write so cheap. I mean, even when you hire people for a lot of texts for your websites you pay more than what you are paying for the entire book, $30 for 7k words is rly cheap. Would be great if you could share the website.

Odesk, elance, and freelancer are your best bets. Sifting through all the applications and testing potential writers is a job in itself, but once you find one you like you can negotiate the price down on the promise of future work (series etc)

Writers are happy to work for 30$/7-10k story with a guarantee of 5 or 6 more jobs. It's all about finding quality and reliable ones.

I was searching for writer 1 week and finally found one on fiver. For 30$ I get 6500-7000 words eBook. There are many people out there who are willing to do this. Look for fresh GiG's or post in forums what you are looking for.

How much $ do you make per kindle sale?
So far I have just one sale. That's because my first two books came out of free 5 day period and I'm at the middle of nowhere xD The third book will step in the paid promotion after few hours. I'm excited to see what will happen. When I find keyword that have low competition, I also check that keyword in google planner, if I see ~500 monthly searches, that probably mean 3 times less searches in amazon. So I'm happy with the 150-200 searches on this keyword BUT to appear on #1. I know my covers look good, description is good... so I can expect 1-2 sales per month on book. I don't have the knowledge and the resources to fight with the competition for the high demand keywords. Basically this is my strategy: low keywords, tons of books = passive income. We will see the result.

First two books went in free promotions. What i did was: setup the book for 1 day free promotion, wait to end. And the next day I setup another 1 day free promotion. The logic here is: if person see the book is free BUT ONLY for one day, he will hurry to download it. Because if he see 3 days free, he can think " well, there are 3 days, will download it after" and never do. That was for the first two books. Now the third will run the paid promo. I'm still testing to see what will work.

I was with you until that point.

No Racist homie

No racist
Sorry if it sound like that. I'm not racist. Just every "deal" I try to make those days is with indian guy, who is trying to scam. Sorry if it sound like racist.
