Thank you! Do you know of a simple free software which can use the X-Spinner API?

I tried to use it via GSA, but I'm getting the following error in the log.

Spin Error ID:1 Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral ...

I couldn't copy the message from the log, and I couldn't see it fully. So I typed part of it manually.

The install way is same on server, vps or your pc. The different is just the listen IP, when you run it on server or vps, and want to use the software on your pc work with x-spinner, you need change the listen to the server's public IP, not 127.0.0.1. That is it.

You want to use yourself software with x-spinner or use a normal third-software like scm, senuke , etc?

hey Terry. I use the spin config window in GSA search engine ranker, which can use various APIs like wordai and TBS which X-Spinner also mimics. If you don't have that, I am sure that there is some other simple free software which can do the job. If not, it would be pretty easy to code as well. Maybe you could pay someone $10 to do it for you!

Hey I restarted my VPS and I'm suddenly getting the following error when starting the spin service. What could be the problem?

After all this time I am going to call this program useless. The reason why is that it does not change the host file in administrative mode and does not recognize when I manually add the entries to the host file.

I had this same problem and I was breaking my head over how to solve it. But my VPS guys were very helpful and helped me solve the problem. Here's how you do it:

1. Close X-Spinner
2. Follow this guide to enable the Take Ownership option in the right-click menu.
3. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
4. Right-click the hosts file and click Take Ownership
5. Open notepad in admin mode (type notepad in start and press ctrl+shift+enter).
6. Open the hosts file via this notepad
7. Enter the required entries and save (it should save just like that instead of asking you to save as a new file).
8. CLOSE NOTEPAD
9. Open CMD in Admin mode (type CMD in start and press ctrl+shift+enter).
10. Type in "ipconfig /flushdns" and press enter
11. Type in "nbtstat -R" and press enter
12. Now go and check if the sites open in IE (they shouldn't open).
13. Start the X-Spinner service and go to IE and try to visit the sites - you will get a message from X-Spinner to use the POST command, which means the API is working.
14. You can now use a software to interface with API and spin to your heart's content!

Yes aj113. I had to stop the W3SVC service in the task manager.

I had this same problem and I was breaking my head over how to solve it. But my VPS guys were very helpful and helped me solve the problem. Here's how you do it:

It is actually a tad bit more than that. I use the hosts file from winhelp2002.mvps.org to stop most tracking, adware, and some malware. This is a rather involved hosts file and is about 500 KB. When I use the hosts file from winhelp2002.mvps.org then Xspinner is unable to alter the hosts file, or see the entries that XSpinner wants appended to the file, and cannot start. If I remove the entries from winhelp2002.mvps.org, then XSpinner can access the hosts file and append to the end of the file, and will start.

This problem would suggest that the program is conducting some kind of tracking that the hosts file from winhelp2002.mvps.org is intended to limit. It is more than likely an innocent error, but I really do not know and lack the initiative to track down the particular entry(ies) that are the cause of the problem.
