I have had my site almost over a year now. I have been trying to learn Seo and I have been implementing some things as I learn. However I am not ranked in Google . I thought I was ranked before...low but ranked...now it seems as everything went south. I have a zero rank and I am not listed for my keywords. I have made some changes but I don't think Google has re crawled my site yet. It has been months since it has updated and google haven't changed the description. I am willing to pay for some seo but don't know what I really need. Please advise if possible. My site is Pitbullempire dot com. Thank you!

Did you include your target keyword in your title, alt tag, and several times within the body of the article? Have you built any links to the site? What's the keyword competition for the site you are trying to rank?

If you have no experience in SEO i.e. both link building as well as on page optimization, I would either suggest you to take services from a SEO agency or buy a service at Fiverr.

I think you need to reassign your on-page optimization. First of all think about your meta-keyword. I think it would better for you to hire a SEO specialist for both on-page and off-page optimization.

umm.. don't hire one that mentions anything about meta-keywords, they obviously don't know anything about SEO

Your page is keyword stuffed to hell and gone. The description alone is 2081 characters with your main keyword repeated 91 times. Your title is your brand name that I bet get no searches, you haven't use any headings or article structure, and the entire page has 321 words on it in all, (not counting the description), including nav and photocaptions.

In other words your site is not finished, and the finished parts are over optimized, and you have no content.

Yes I did include my targeted keywords without over stuffing

It was overstuffed, but I changed all of that over a month ago and google has not updated it. I will check out each page again though. Thanks

My initial impressions visiting your site are :

- It's very thin on actual content. Lots of pics but there doesn't seem to be enough text on the topic. Have you checked webmaster tools? you may have been hit by a thin content penalty too. Even if you haven't i would highly recommend you add lots more.

I ran your site through majestic seo just to have a quick look at your keywords you are targeting. I am of the opinion that your target keywords are too broad. You need to be a little more specific to rank better. At the end of the day you need to think about your objective... and your objective is to sell a product (the puppies). Your keywords are so broad that google will most likely rank sites like wikipedia and info sites well before yours.

If you start to target a long keyword you have a better chance to rank and target customers that are actually looking to buy one (not just browsers looking for info about terriers). for example .. american pit bull terriers for sale... its just an example.

In regards to your anchor text I would probably dilute the URL anchor text a little. It's way too high in my opinion. Lots of people seem to think that adding a full url as anchor text is natural... well it's not really... how many websites do you see that anchor text full url's like that? Some do. but most won't.

In summary

- check webmaster tools (see if you have a thin content penalty).
- work to increase the quantity of text on your website. google probably can't even work out what type of site you have and thus can't give you a contextual ranking...
- dilute your url anchor text, its way too high.
- work on your content before you even think about getting into more link building.
- and for the love of god change your site look!! get a nice wordpress template and keep it clean. It's very hard to navigate. even if you do manage to get people to your site they probably won't stay long if they can't handle the flow of information and pictures.

good luck.

I am looking at the actual page and seeing that, are you sure your update took?

Go into webmasters tools, update the sitemap, and tell it to "fetch as googlebot". It will index in a few minutes.

if your site penalized by Google then follow these steps:

1: remove your bad back links
2: change content of your website
3: on page optimization
4: after start link building you must get results
