Trust me dude, I'm new and sometimes it feels so easy to ask these kind of questions. But if you're out for the best answers then you should know that making a thread asking for answers that are elsewhere on the forum is not the way to go. That's one side of the story, the other side is, much of what is attributed to ranking higher in the SERPs is open to debate, how effective they are and such. For sure, you'd get varying opinions. So join in the threads where these issues are already opened up for discussion, read through previous replies and make your contributions.I can say for certain, that in so doing you'd get concrete answers to your questions.

You have to write High Quality content and post in High PR sites with a back link to you, make sure that the site has social signals and it should not contains spam links, If you get more links on High PR sites, surely your PR and quality of your sites will increase!
Ok, I actually have one advice that might be groundbreaking for you. Seriously.
Did you ever realize that you can just look at what other people are doing, by googling for some keywords?
You can analyze their homepages. How are they structured? How many articles? What is the Top3 doing differently than #8? You can even check their backlinks (use Google to find out how).
Other than that, you'll find a lot of SEO advice all over BHW...

You say Google forms which is actually a service of Google drive.
I guess this is an very important factor to position yourself on google SERPs. Be really really careful and do your job well. Otherwise you might find very bad results.
The NET is a very hard place, its all a matter of like everybody told you, taking action.

1. Check how top 10 competitors doing their on page SEO:
- how they write their titles, urls, ave keywords density of theirs.
2. Check their backlinks(offpage seo)
Just this 2 simple steps will help you rank well. Remember slow and quality is the key for ranking today
But all these are worthless if you targeting wrong keywords, meaning it takes a huge amount of time and money to burn before seeing result(may or may not) when you chose the wrong and difficult keywords

Yes my keyword focus is well attended, about 5 million monthly searches and still have managed to reach the 4th position but with the last update of last week google had a drop to 8th...

On page SEO:
Target relevant keywords.
Create contents using your keywords.
Use heading tags and long tail keywords.
Create title tags with your target keywords.
Add Meta descriptions.
Also you can use off page SEO techniques such as Social Bookmarking, Directory submission, Article submission etc. to build quality backlinks.
