Personnaly I'm completely new to this and I need one vpn for my backlink strategy, I HIGHLY recommend Topdogs to comment this article and give their opinions.
So this is the article for HOW TO CHOOSE an Excellent VPN. (If you don't know what it is go google this shit.)
Pointers to choose a Excellent VPN on my personal understanding (and excellent articles i found online)
*********************************************************************************************************
- The review from the services should be the first factor you look at:
I assume we take a VPN here on the forum: look at who give the review (respected poster), the number of it and since when the guy is in the business. This last one is crucial as a long sustain provider with good review mean the guy know his stuff, gain respected from respected poster which mean HE IS THE SHIT. Common sense...
- Encryption abilities is the most important factor when it come to choose a VPN:
Ratings:
PPTP: low security, fast speed
L2TP/IPsec: medium security, fastest speed
OpenVPN UDP (128-bit BF): high security, fast speed
OpenVPN UDP (256-bit AES): highest security, good speed
OpenVPN TCP (128-bit BF): high security, average speed
- Privacy policy:
Make it so it does not register your data. This is the second most important factor if not equal to the encryption abilities, if the provider do not register and keep a journal of your activity even if the authority want to seize your traffic it's impossible for them.
- Compatibility:
Make sure the VPN or SSH tunnelling provider will work on your Windows 64 bit, Linux, iPhone or whatever OS you happen to be using.
- Data Logging:
Data logging facility couldn?t keep history of your data and while choosing your VPN you must have to look that whatever provider you select is giving that data logging facility or not.
- VPN IP adress and server location:
You can easily understand the importance of large server locations and IP addresses in that manner you can easily switch it and make your identity anonymous because if you have so many options you can quickly use them or sometimes it can be done automatically by the VPN provider themselves. Other benefits of having large number of server locations is that you can unblock the restricted content in that area where it is blocked due to government restrictions and other policies. You can switch your IP address and server location in that area where that content is not restricted.
- Dynamic IP or Static IP:
Further than above, dynamic IP give you more anonymity because your traffic will be spread on thousand of different IP instead of only one (static IP)
- The range of supported devices:
Now these days VPN have to support today?s most renowned devices like IPhones, I Pads, Android devices, cellular phones etc.
Also the selected VPN is able to support large number of devices with single VPN connection.
- Jurisdiction:
Choose a VPN or SSH tunnelling provider located somewhere outside of the jurisdiction from the corrupt Government you believe can get most pissed off or most likely to go after you due to your internet downloading/uploading activities. Assuming that exists, choose a VPN or SSH tunnelling provider located somewhere with strong privacy laws.
- Free period of try to test the server and/or a delay of refund if not satisfy.
- Bandwith and download volume illimited:
If not you have to check that the bandwith is at LEAST the same as your normal connexion.
- The price: you want a decreasing rate of charge since you will probably use it long term.
You need to verify all the below once you use your vpn to see if the provider is for real. Also you have no way of knowing if the provider register your journal or not (from what I understand right now).
You may want to only pay for a few month as the quality of the provider may change, quality may go down (or up who know ?).
Comments are welcome.
