Do PBN Sites Need Social Media Accounts?

Hey Guys!

Just a quick question for those of you who own and are successfully running your own PBN networks.

I've seen a lot of guides on the topic and some say that you should make social media accounts (FB, Twitter etc.) for your network sites while other guides say don't bother.

I'm not afraid of hard work so if it has to be done, then it has to be done. Naturally though, building a PBN is a time-consuming process (without the finds to hire a VA just yet) so I don't want to waste my time on stuff like that if it's completely unnecessary.

I'd love to get some feedback (as I'm sure others would too) from the PBN experts here on BHW:

Do you think PBN sites need accompanying social media profiles?

I have created a small PBN but have not created Social accounts... Though About us, Contact Us pages are made to make it look legit.

But yes Creating Social media Profiles with Care will be a good idea,

depends on your input. almost every real website has also social profiles (and also you will need to update them on a regular basis) I would say yes

My other reservation would be the fact that - in some ways - setting up a Twitter/Facebook account would be another way for competitors to stumble across your PBN sites and turn them in.

If someone in a competitive niche found a site on Twitter, followed through to their home page and discovered it was linking out in a PBN fashion, wouldn't that be a bad thing?

I know that's erring more on the 'super paranoid' side of things but I'd love to know your thoughts, mate.

It'd be great to know your thoughts on the importance of making your PBN sites look like "real" money sites, Richard.

I know that the aim is to make them blend in as much as possible but I've already read many times here on this very forum that if your PBN sites are found and subjected to a 'manual review' you're "pretty much screwed anyway" regardless.

At the moment I'm doing my best to add the right pages, make the formatting look good and generally just build these PBN sites just as I would a money site. I suppose I would just like to know how much emphasis YOU think should be put on making things look "real" and when does that process become overkill...(i.e. setting up individual social media profiles )

Social accounts are completely needless for PBN blogs/sites. I don't even create social accounts for my small niche sites because there is absolutely no benefit in having social accounts unless your site is an authority site.

I am by no means an expert but a lot of people here are overthinking the whole PBN thing. PBNs sites are easy to spot from a mile away or at least 98 percent of them do. If there is a manual review you are going down, you cant outsmart a guy that has access to tools hundred times more powerful than yours and who is getting paied to spot and hunt PBNs. The obssession about a "safe pbn" is just a chimera. Buy your domain, setup your site, put some articles, link to your sitea and move on. Worrying about if you will get caught or not won't save you if there is a pbn hunter manual reviewing your site. You can fool algoritms and bots but not people.

There are many ways to fry a fish - and there are many ways to construct a pbn, depending on your aims. Going back to the bluehatseo.com strategy, the intention was that every site in a pbn should "pay it's own rent" and preferably make some profit - even just from advertising (but remember that your adwords - or other network - codes can create a footprint). Many network owners seem happy for their pbns to do nothing more than boost the money sites - and the money sites pay the rent. I still like bluehat's strategy, and most of my pbn sites make a profit - they look super legit, meaning most of them have active social profiles. Having social accounts connected to those sites also allows you to automate backlinking to twitter, fb, etc.

Recently i notices some high pr PBN sites have only home page, contact us. But the site rank its good. I think its not necessary. But by chance you may get any buyer from social network.

How "real" you make your PBN sites look is a matter of preference and how much time you have.

Keep in mind that there is no point in "half-assing" making a PBN site look real. You either go all-in or don't do it at all.

Basically if one of your PBN sites comes under a manual review, unless it looks like a legit full-blown working website, the website is going to get de-indexed. These Google people know PBN sites when they see it.

When I first started building PBNs I had sites with great content, pictures, social media etc. and they still got de-indexed from time to time. So after a while I said F### it. To me it's not worth it.

Especially now that I have multiple networks with hundreds of sites, I don't have time to make them all look real.

Just cloak them from competitors, cover your footprints, and work to expand your network. That is time better spent.

From what I see/read on this forum, it seems that most people with networks manage networks of like 20-50 websites. However if you ever plan to go "industrial" where you have hundreds of properties, you just won't have the time to make every one of your PBNs look real.

So I guess it also depends what your long term goals are as well. Just my .02

I think I'm on the same page as you, really. I'm not afraid to spend the time building out 'real' PBN sites but I've always thought that time would be better spent building real money sites that actually earn.

My long term goal is to definitely have an 'industrial' approach to building my networks so I think your thoughts have solidified my position re: social media on my sites.
