Someone copied my website 100%

HELP. I'm a little frustrated, maybe you guys could make me feel better about this matter. I stumbled upon another site when looking up if anyone happens to be copying my content through CopyScape and to my surprise someone has launched a website word by word, same exact design, everything is the same but the brand name. The website (mine) this imbecile copied is currently getting worked on and i'm working really hard to rank it. Will this affect my rankings? I'm scared to change my content because i don't want Google's bots to maybe "not like" my new content and decrease my rankings. Also, this person has their website indexed and everything, even the 3 major metas are the same -__- like.. BRUH.

So how should i take action on this? Should i not be worried because maybe Google has some way to knowing you had the content first?

Would appreciate any response, i know this question could help others in the future.

1) Add Google Plus authorship to your site (https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2539557?hl=en)
2) If your contents are indexed before your copier (I think it is) the copier is penalized, not you.
3) Don't take any action, since this copier is doing this "work" you can contact him but I think he never answer.

Extra: When you publish new post go to Webmaster Tools and click on Scan > Show as Google. Now Google scans your post and will index it in few seconds. So in this way you're sure that the first indexed content is yours.

Yes you should setup google plus authorship as mentioned by aragnrecords. It is most recommended way to protect site from copycats.

If the copier is a member here, he should know better. There is no excuse for anyone of this forum not to understand when someone would use a DCMA. If you do something that you know can cause you to lose your website, you shouldn't cry when it sinks.

You do crap like that on a "take the money and run basis."

People off this forum would know not to duplicate content or even just steal a whole website if they actually want to legitimately grow it. that's just going full retard. It could be that he knows he won't get anywhere on purpose and is just doing it to try to bring my website down and/or piss me off. Whatever it is, i gained the experience and now know how to deal with something like this. So i'm looking at it as a bad and good thing.

If by "in no time" you mean within a matter of mere months you are correct, Google is the absolute worst at adhering to DMCA takedowns.

Best of luck to you though, hopefully the copy site just gets ignored while you are waiting on a reply of your DMCA request.

You need to file a DMCA request at the earliest and get the duplicate site's content removed.
