I always figured these kinds of cryptocurrencies were just ploys. The more people that have them, the more they're going to be worth, which is why there's always a "Giving away free * coins!" thread every now and then.

Seemed silly to me before and it seems silly to me now, it's like trying to start up a cult.

With 3d printing, dont you think this coins will be great for doing operations online? I mean bitcoin its just a currency. There will be thousands, even BlackhatWorld could be launching one in the future to make transactions really encrypted and manage it with reputation points and so on.
Its just evolution. I like how people organize different economies on different currencies, is very out of the box.
