I was fortunate enough to get a review copy of this software, and I have to say, it s a nifty little tool. It does the quick and dirty bad backlink cull in a heartbeat.
I have used it with Majestics feed, and it worked like a charm. You have the option to add bad words too, so if someone were doing a neg SEO campaign, just add those words, and the software marches right out there and finds all the inks with that word in them, then creates a disavow file to submit to google.
Where it shines is when looking at a new customer. It is not "say all and the end all" of bad backlink checkers, but it can give you a great overview of the backlinks that obviously need disavowed, so you can concentrate on finding the less blatant ones.
Does it miss some bad links? Probably. But from the results I have seen so far, every single link it found as bad, I would have decided to delete.
It ay be missing a few borderliners, but everythig it IDs as junk is junk.
Can't get much better than that.
If you are in SEO, this tool is a serious contender for your toolbox. It will pay for itself with the first customer profile you have to look at.
Really a well thought solution to a time consuming problem, and that is where the value is, in time saved.
I would buy this tool if I did not already have it.

First off I want to say thanks that I was one of the lucky ones chosen to receive a review copy of the software. I am impressed how easy and straight forward it is to operate. There was an instruction video in the download area but I did not need it, because the layout of the software was well designed and self explanatory.
I used the sotware on a website of mine that dropped drastically in rankings awhile back due to excessive backlinking, It was able to pull out a big list links that were definitely "Unnatural" aka "Bad" from a Google webspam team's perspective.
If you do SEO for people this tool is worth it's weight in gold, you will be able to more accurately determine the quality of a backlink profile for any site that you get from your clients.
Even if you don't position other peoples sites you can use this tool to setup a side gig/bst on this forum or other Freelancer sites offering to clean and help people with their sites backlinks. A couple of clients, and you will have recovered the money you paid for the software, and be making money.

For anyone looking to buy this software. DON'T!
I raised the concern that there was no confirmation, download link or any type of evidence I purchased from him: except paypal.
He sent me a link where I could put in my email which I used for paypal. I get an "Email Not Found" message.
Either OP doesn't have anything sorted in the way of how to get the software to his buyers, or this is a complete scam and I was the first to fall for it.
Buy it at your own risk or wait for my next update.

OP has fixed the panel and all is working fine. There are some errors with installation but that could be my computer. The license activation is a bit funny and takes a little while to be activated.
The program loads but crashes and drops out often. Not worth the money and I'm asking for a refund.

OK, I'm trying to get my refund processed and this "30 days no questions asked money back guarantee" is total bullshit. There are a tonne of questions and all of the sudden I'm treated as a beta tester and not a paying customer.
I've asked politely 3 times for the refund to be issued and answered all their questions. The part where I said no is when they requested all my private proxies. I just don't feel comfortable about that even though there is a valid reason.
Posting this update just in-case I need to call on oldsalt. Hopefully it won't come to that and they're just persistent on fixing the issue to avoid a refund.

I was lucky enough to receive a review copy of Penguin Recovery Pro.
The testing I have done has proved to me that this software will be a welcome addition to anybodies SEO arsenal.
It has already highlighted a number of links I need to disavow and several others I need to take a look at.
It is pretty straightforward, so it won't take you long to start analysing your links.
If you have a number of sites then you will find this tool should save you a lot of time.
It is a simple tool but it does the job well.
OP, 2 Suggestions for future updates,
1. add a cancel button to the proxy/link checker so that the program may be closed if necessary
2. change the desktop icon - it looks like a pigeon lol

What does this tool do besides looking for keywords in the url and domain extension
for clues whether or not the link comes from a bad neighborhood?
Those are not signals that a link should be disavowed.
How do you determine whether or not a site is penalized by either
Panda or Penguin?
And how do you use tools to determine what links to disavow?
I use LinkResearchTools for this kind of thing.

Software utilizes various differnet filters other than just words and domain extention in URL.. it also scans the whole page for certain words mostly used by spammers...anchor text, page rank..language.. etc and we are also working on adding malicious page filter and quality level indicators. Which will be available in version 2.0.
