How much does CONTENT QUALITY actually affect SEO?

While I was scrolling through writing services, I stumbled upon this question because our ranks are mostly due to the indexing bots and they probably don't have an algorithm so perfect or complex to be able to differentiate a good quality from high quality article. So if we put it in that perspective wouldn't the difference from a good to high quality article only be for the sake of reader retention?
So the biggest focus of an article would be keywords and relevance if we only focus on rankings?
Am I correct? Opinions from seasoned optimizers pls :P
Thanks in Advance!!

If you don't think so, you are simply lying to yourself. They do not only have hyper advanced algorithms for "content" but a lot more than just that.

Don't think of quality content for the fucking bots... think about it for your users; if you have shitty content in your website and/or your offsite properties, all you are going to have is poor user's stats, which in time will hinder your rankings.

Use low quality content for BH campaigns, but if your aim is maintain rankings for good, make sure to use the best possible content for on and off site. Of course when reinforcing links, you won't be able to get hq content unless you are to spend hundreds of thousands; so in these cases, the best way forward is to go with unique and readable articles that are on point.

Anyways, best of luck with your venture.

Now - more than ever - content quality is paramount. It's a science. An advanced one.

Content matters a lot, I can tell you this from personal experience. I have been monitoring competitors on the same niche as me every day and noticed that in the last month they have started writing more articles, that are low quality (maybe they use a spinner or something), their rankings have started to fall the last two weeks. If you are going to have poor quality content you are going to have a big bounce rate which will negatively affect your search engine visibility. Always write good quality content for a site that you want to rank high.

There are hundreds (maybe more) articles covering this subject. All of them are saying that content matters. Whats the point if this thread?

Content for SEO doenst matter AT ALL, don t let these people that haven't test anything in their entire life's fool you, you need quality content for your visitors but there is absolutely no need to entertain bot with $10/words content.

I have sad this many times, i have leadgen sites that have stand the whole update farm and are still raking in calls every day, crappy content still ranks like it was 2005, the thing is.... BOT CANT READ.....

So if you're going to use crappy content make sure you have a system (redirect, cloaking) to sent you visitor to a site where you have great content and get your conversions, but do yourself a huge favor and dont buy into the: "you need high quality content to rank your site" mantra

And all of them are WRONG!

No one is fool here and Google bots are absolutely NOT.

I agree with the words "crappy content works now" but not as like "2005". On 2005 you can rank a crappy content for any type of keyword.
Payday loan easy at that time, Now can you with the crappy content?

Low quality content works fine for low/medium/high competition keywords with average search volume. Not Big brand keywords like payday loan, phen375 or how to make money... Tough to anyone who use crappy content.

Still I am using crappy content to rank the keywords like "Game Name" + "cheats".

fc_dh is right! Bots doesn't read the entire content. Its reads based on the keywords & its relevancy. Even the bots don't find the time to read all the web texts. Using those loop hole grey/black hat masters enter into TOP 10 easily.

Quality content: Long term results
Crappy content (Not all crappy content ranks - it ranks when you play a tricky game using keywords): Short term projects - Quick results

Focus article writing for human instead of the bot. It is better than focusing on keyword stuffing.

Heyy guys I'm new to this so idk what this is for can yAll try an explain to me wat this website for .......

an an who has an Alboraaq account cuz for some reason I can't log on to mine 😑😏👌💯

I never said I was going to use crappy quality content, but I notice the difference in price from great to publisher level quality is such a steep price increase. like from $2/100words to $7.5/100words.
That was what my original point was, not comparing crap quality to publisher quality :/

High quality articles increase the credibility of your site and make your site more useful to searchers. High quality articles attract more links that can increase your rankings. Therefore, they affect SEO a lot.

When I'm too busy, I buy run of the mill $1/100 words content, then I add my voice to it. Sites are ranking just fine, as are my clients. I'd never use it for your MS, but it is fine for T1.

That you cant rank for payday loan has nothing to do with the quality of your content, but with the quality of your backlinks and the manual reviews of those backlinks.

But in the normal niches you can rank prety damn good with crappy spun content, 80% of all SEO is offsite, i dont care what you WF whitehat SEO guys claim, all my tests are very clear, Google can't read and rate content on its value.

But dont belief me, test it yourself, like i sad before when you test shit instead of just believing shit what people spew on forums (including me) you will see that google isnt have a powerful as 99,99% of you here think.

Test and be surprised ;)

Then how bad would it be to add super high quality content later to replace the quality I have right now? I'm not going to delete the old articles, but link to them from the new super high quality articles
My first website so I don't wanna go spending $7/100words

Content quality means nothing to Google. You can have same results with $10+/100 words and unreadable crappy content. What matters is user experience and behaviour on your site. If user lands on crappy content then he/she leaves. As this is blackhat forum there are always ways to rank with crappy (free) content and show to the visitors a good quality content (to get conversions) plus there are tricks how you can have 0 bounce rate back to search results. What matters is how you present the content for bots - onsite seo. Even minor changes on your site (like how you add and show images, how the content is divided into paragraphs, how and where you add the kws which you target and many many more) make huge difference on rankings. Like i said - content quality is only for visitors not for bots.

Cheers

This guy knows what he's talking about. I seriously can't wrap my head around how serious everybody is about the quality of the content. This is BHW for christ's sake.
You can rank your site with decent content, as long it's unique! The quality of your content doesn't affect your rankings directly (and here's the kicker). However, if your content is spun bullshit that no one can read and extremely bad formatted, then your bounce rate will skyrocket and you will drop in rankings.

If you're planning on making a site somewhat longterm then use readable and good content, but don't overthink it and try to hire Stephen King to write a 10,000 word article for your site. If you don't care about its longevity then don't bother using quality content.

Quality content will have more LSI content than crappy content. I can't believe that in the long term, it does not have a positive effect.

And looking forward, as Google has to do something about all the spam out there, they are going to figure out how too tell quality from crap. When they do, sites that are linked to quality tiers and going to be fine.

Google has been stressing quality for a long time. They continue to try to reward quality. It's only going to get worse.

If you are BHing it, quality in the tiers may not matter, but for the future, getting that quality anchored before the "quality update" comes is going to pay off big. Today nothing is more powerful than an aged high pr do follow link, one that has been there for years.

In the future, the longer you site has been a "quality" anchor will be an metric like that.

It is down the road but I submit the following:

Google has always adjusted the algo when any ranking factor gets spammed enough to actually effect rankings. Backlinking is to the point it is today because of this.

Tiered linking today is full of crappy spam sites.

Today linking OUT to bad sites an hurt YOUR rankings.

It gets worse everyday, and it affects the ranking of sites in he serps more everyday.

Google has to do something, and always has. The problem is that there is too much data to parse.

Google has at least one functioning quantum computer already that we know of.

In time they will figure it out. and start to penalize.

But they will NEVER penalize quality.

If you are planning on being here in 5 to 10 years you better start thinking quality wherever you can.

Or adwords.

If your site has quality content then you won't have think much about SEO, getting traffic etc. Google will send traffic to your site if it has high quality, informative content.
