100% agree with WizGiz and Oxon.
Weed "addiction" is the last real addiction I've been trying to kick. I delt with all my harder addictions earlier in life (speed, opiates, etc).... but pot has been the hardest to kick. Just because it's viewed as an innocent drug.... and it's so easy to slip back into the habit of smoking everyday.
I once smoked weed every single night, once a day, for 5 years straight without missing a day.
I quit smoking on my own for 10 months. In those following 10 months my life improved like never before. I started my own business with my brother. Started making a lot of money, every single aspect of my life improved. My writing abilities, my social skills, my business, my earnings, my conversions, my vocabulary, my sex life, etc etc.
THEN after 10 months, I don't know why, I smoked again. Wasn't a big deal, my life was still going good, so I smoked again the following month.
Then I started smoking every other week, then every week, then everyday. And within 3-4 months I was back to smoking daily.
There were split tests I was running for video marketing, and ALL the videos I did when I was smoking pot had shitty conversions or didn't convert at all. All the videos I did when I was fully sober converted between 4-22%.
But sure enough, I slowly turned back into that lazy bastard I use to be. Instead of waking up and immediately getting to work...... I found myself watching tv or random viral videos on youtube, playing video games, over sleeping, over eating, and developing a host of bad habits again. I stopped watching the clock, stopped staying on top of things, and once again my life started going to shit.
So I quit once again and things got back to normal. I was making good money again, was sharp, got my wits and sense of humor back. Then a few months later our business got national press and was broadcast on CBS. Things were going AWESOME.
Problem is, about 6 months ago I started smoking again. And it's both sad but hilarious how predictable the side effects are. Because EVERY SINGLE TIME I get back to smoking on a daily basis, my earnings nose dive.
I have debated and argued this with pot heads for most my life. But the diehard pot smokers (mostly the younger ones), no matter how much research you show them... they simply can not wrap their burnt out brains around the fact that pot makes you a lazy, dull, uninteresting, bum of a person.
Like just look at some of the comments in here, "smoke that, roll that, light that"..... that's exactly what pot does to your brain kids.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE WEED. Especially when I don't have a tolerance it's A LOT of fun to get high. But that's also a serious problem. Because I have an addictive personality (like many people do) and it's very rare for me to "control" my habit for more than 2-3 months. After that point I always wind up smoking every night. And the first few weeks are always fun. But as the months and years pass by I'm consistently reminded of the fact that I'm throwing my life away.
And thats why I think pot is one of the worst drugs in the world. I honestly think it's worse than opiates. Because at least with opiates, when you get hooked you KNOW you have a serious problem. The side effects are much more obvious. But ironically, when I was hooked on opiates I was wayyy more productive than when I was a pothead. I still worked out, still got my shit done. As long as I didn't miss a dose I was mostly my normal self. With weed, it can take decades before you realize what you've truly sacrificed. It's subtle, it flies under the radar, lowers your IQ, your attention span, obliterates your memory, your personality, your sense of humor, your vocabulary, etc etc.
tl:dr version - JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS KIDS
