This might be a little bit of a noobish question, and I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this sort of question (though this is the best forum I can think to post it), but let's say I go ahead and buy a domain from namecheap. I then go and throw it on my hosting at godaddy. Am I then only allowed to transfer the domains between Godaddy accounts for 6 months? Or do I have this backwards. I read this somewhere that you're only allowed to transfer domains between hosts after 6 months. With flippa being on my mind in the long run, I want to cover my rear end, so to speak.

All registrars are different. Some are 90 days some more some less.. All depends...Just because you host it somewhere you still have to follow the registrar where you got the domain from. Hope this helps...

it's for a couple of reasons. I just started my hosting a couple of days ago on godaddy, and I'm already sick of it. So if I really wanted to switch my host to, maybe hostgator, I could do that on the spot, just the filesystems and whatnot would stay with godaddy? (Since I have both there currently)
