What's the secret? (I hope it's not a secret sauce)

lol, no sauce required. I just made sure I only added domains that were directly relevant to the wikipedia pages. It's really useful to have an FAQ section on each of your sites, then you can add questions/answers as necessary to feed the right content back to wikipedia.

Look, I really tried this carefully, just modified one dead link from more than 100 reference links accordingly(that means maybe nobody will actually click it), I stopped after made only one pointed to a qualify page of mine to see what will happen, and bang, I got a spam warning from wikipedia this morning, so you try to find dead links, think it's gonna be an easy way to make hundreds (if not thousands) of backlinks, wake up, this one is not the one you expect, maybe it was, but not now, It requires some extra effort to get some back links from wikipedia, once you pay your dues, you can add, edit, replace... so forget about the damn dead link, It's done, especially when it's exposed on BHW.

Wikipedia may have noticed a strong uptick in links being added to dead links, and figured out the tactic. Then it's back to the quality method---find wiki pages entries related to your site with few or no external links, write a simple quality or professional-looking page on it that links to the monetized funnel, and add your page to the entry's external links. Avoid entry topics that bear on cultural or political controversies, as both sides of a hot issue are likely to monitor those pages.

I think its better to look for "Citation Needed" than Dead Links. There's more opportunities for link building with citations needed anyway.

Recently, I read about the effects of ghost links too. So maybe a backlink from a Wiki page that is removed after a few days or weeks will still help. Also, maybe your backlink is holding due to the quality of the page you are linking to. With some people who are saying they got the spam warning, who knows what quality of site they are linking to such as whether or not the info on the site being linked to is any good.

Another top tip, make sure the landing page (Where the link is going to point to on your Website) is of super quality.

Add citations, references, links to sources - It's like kinda attention to detail that will get your link to stick around for the long haul.

Great method OP, used this method myself in the past for some of my own niche sites. Still works like a charm and is completely white-hat/safe.

I recommend checking out Matthew Woodward's super detailed guide on this though if you're planning on investing some good time into this.

You won't get banned if you put the content wikipedia is referring to on the page you link to. If you redirect the page to a cash loans site, well, yea you'll get banned.
