Amazon Affiliate Links

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just cant work out whether I am doing something naughty or now...
I have a Amazon affiliate links which are quiet long and are obvious to google that they are affiliate links. I also dont like that the user can quiet easily see that it is a long link which is most likely a affiliate link...

Instead of the link being directly to amazon I up a link to something like 'domain buyfrom amazon productname'
Then i have a auto redirect from that directory to the amazon link.
I also have the robots file to disallow the 'buyfrom' folder, to prevent gbot from going in there

I know google does not like cloaking, but do you think i am likely to get slapped by google for this, or is it ok?
Any help would be much appreciate!!!!

PS: Sorry if this is a little confusing, but I am struggling to get this post past the moderation system, so have to remove all sorts of symbols

Amazon won`t allow to cloak/change the url structure. Basically you can only link with Amazon url otherwise you end up being banned.

Most Amazon guys use pictures of the product, review tables, buy now buttons and whatelse to redirect the use from the click to the desired amazon page.

If you only want to hide affiliate links from Google bots then you can always create (or buy) a plugin (for WP) which hides certain links (affiliate links for example) from certain bots like Google and other search engines. Basically all visitors see the affiliate links or any other links and you can add those as many as you like per domain/page/post but search engine bots won`t see those.

Community is very responsive and active.
What if I post good books, kits, and really interesting products from amazon.
How much I would be doing in commissions?

If I would have such a big group of people who trust me...I would do the following:

a. Try to understand what they want. What are their problems to make an idea what would they be interested in.
b. I would create a website for each of their needs. For ex: if you notice that a post about telescopes has a high rate of likes & shares, you have a niche to tap
c. I would share from time to time posts from my websites where I am speaking about telescopes, product reviews, how-tos and so on.
d. I would continue to search their interests and come with a solution on a website which promotes products from Amazon

You're allowed to track outgoing links from your site so I don't think having a redirector is a bad thing on its own. But I agree with others here, the bigger risk is with the Amazon account, not G.

Yeah, don't try to hide them with prettylink or anything else...if your readers like your site, and you post some good reviews, comparisons/contrasts between the products you market, you'll be fine. Google doesn't like thin affiliates. Amazon doesn't like cloaked links.

As far as my knowledge is concern, I don't think you can do that.

Because Amazon doesn't allow you to do so.

Are you guys sure you can't cloak your amazon links? the site shutupandtakemymoney.com has all of their affiliate links cloaked with pretty links and im pretty sure they're bringing in thousands a month

You can still get the conversion but, again, it's against the rules.

What Plugin you talking about may I ask to help affiliate links transparent from Google bots?

Like i said earlier, can someone point me to this "rule"? there is a major website that gets quite a bit of traffic www.shutupandtakemymoney.com that is pretty much exclusively amazon affiliate links and every single one is cloaked with pretty links
