i never saw any discussion on the digg toolbar here... its kind of a redirect, the bookmark does not point to our URL but to something like: digg.com?XXXX


so do digg bookmarks not count anymore?
 
it is a digg 'tinyurl' so they can be used for other services such as twitter/facebook etc. They do not direct to the url directly so the link juice is lost. But the short digg url are nofollow and not indexed. Digg said they will change this though so the site gets the link juice.

Nope. It's still ok. You still get credit for the link because the transformation to the digg.com/XXXXXX is done after you click the link in JS.

And what they're doing now is if you are logged into digg, you get the diggbar (page gets iframed) - but anyone who isn't logged in just gets 301'd (ie. Googlebot).

Edit: I just took a look, and from what I can see digg is using ******** links for all stories - even when logged out. Hmm. I might be missing something.
