It is sort of noob friendly, just make sure you read over everything and don't try to go through their checkout process too fast. In the end it should cost about $1.17 with the coupon (due to other fees). Make sure you don't get any addons and also change their standard 5 year registration to 1 year. You can enter the coupon code at the bottom of the last page - it's not in the most obvious place so you will have to look for it.

@Everyone else - GoDaddy runs these specials all the time, just keep in mind that you will probably not find a renewal coupon and it will cost you about $17 to renew your domains - it will be cheaper elsewhere. It will also not cover privacy protection which will be free elsewhere. So it may seem like a good deal but if you want a long term thing then it's cheaper to go elsewhere and just stick with it rather than saving a few bucks today but paying more in the future - or having to worry about switching.

And besides, as Insomnia mentioned about the renewal, as many other providers are cheaper in the long run. Then there's the part about GoDaddy's other prices... For example Namecheap will be cheaper if you want WhoIs guard (way cheaper after the first year), and also basic SSL certificates are like 2$ for the first year and the renewal price wasn't that bad either.

I wouldn't jump on this deal, mostly because I hate GoDaddy, but also you can get a domain with WhoIs guard at the same price from better providers, and the renewal or purchasing multiple domains won't cost you even nearly as much as with GoDaddy.

Working for me in India. Selected GBP as currency while making payment!

Many a times coupon works but GD doesn't let me pay in INR. This time I selected USD and it worked, paid with a CC instead of paying with internet banking in INR. I wish I had known that before, could've saved $.
