I am now trialling Servikus! Looks very fast indeed! However, I think if would be better if I chose a company with a server in Europe as I'm based in Europe as well, what do you think?

You can try stablehost. I have been using it for years. Very fast, no problem and great service.

+1 on stablehost, also been using for many years. As soon as we outgrew their cheapest hosting we bumped up to higher tiers and its been great for our small business website. Quick support and very on top of things. Never been down except when we were hacked once.
