Except Keyword Planner doesnt do competition analysis... so not quite the same.

keywordrevealer.com is the best tool for me right now,it's FREE...has features same with long tail pro,also using same moz api key...but for sure dont trust the meter 100%...i see if the result full of sites with PA 1,the tool will consider it too easy keyword...different with long tail pro as it said those result is moderate or high..maybe long tail pro devided with the DA if it see the sites have a PA 1. Also dont trust keyword revealer backlinks&long tail pro result..just manually check with ahrefs.

Agree 100%. If you know how to properly analyze the SERPs, you can use keywordrevealer to get a quick picture of the competition, then copy/paste the ones you want to check by hand straight into market samurai (or a free tool like Majestic or aHrefs or OpenSiteExplorer's trial versions). I've never used LongTailPro but I think people who rely on tools like that are kind of foolish, you can never rely on a single number when doing SEO, you always have to look at the bigger picture.

If you guys do not want to buy the long tail pro than use
Market Samurai (for basic details - like in title, url and ranking urls) + Ahrefs (for link details) = Know the competition level.
This will give you more broad details.

Long Tail Pro is total CRAP. The keyword difficulty feature is of no use at all! Trust me when I say this, you cannot determine the difficulty of a keyword just by pressing a button. You have to analyze the top 10 results in google and you can do that with market samurai.
I would strongly advise you to check backlinks of your competitors, if you can afford it use Ahrefs.com if not try backlinksnow.com (free)
Also use keywordrevealer.com it is way better than LTP + it's free and has awesome results. Even the difficulty level is way ahead of LTP.

Spyfu, Ispionage and SEMrush are my kw checkers. I don't have time to piss away with LTP or MS although I own both. I don't miss those days of kw planning waiting for those pathetic tools to get results. Like watching grass grow.
Forgot Keyword Canine as well. Nice and fast tool that gets you on the right track quickly.
