There is a lot of assholes on ebay and amazon who will receive their orders and then disappear. they dont bother to leave feedback. "fuck the seller" is what they are thinking.

so I say, why not give every order an automatic 5 stars if buyer is silent for 30 days? If 30 days has passed and tracking number shows delivered, then buyer must be happy?

I don't necessarily think buyers have in their head "fuck the seller" but more "I got my product and I'm happy". Some people don't even think about reviewing a product or leaving feedback because that's not what they're there for. They merely want their product and to enjoy it.

But on topic I totally agree with what you're saying. It would be nice if there was a follow up service (completely optional of course) asking the buyer how they feel about their product like most modern day companies do.

This is a great idea if you want the feedbacks to be meaningless and want sellers to exploit this by simple buying from another accounts thousands of products for few cents, waiting for the period you mentioned and getting a top rated seller with about 100%.

This brings up the issue of bias reviews, the current system is fine and most of the reviews are genuine. Just a follow up service would definitely help sellers out! Especially if they don't have any reviews.

i never paid attention to getting reviews, but now i'm adding them to my web site.
if i can't get one, then i name drop ("we recently closed a deal with ___") for emphasis.

of course my clients are famous, so this works for me!

I don't have time for leaving feedback most of the cases. Amazon's feedback interface sucks anyway. it has a minimum word limit too I guess. I mean what the? Can't I just say "I loved it"?

Besides, I always leave feedback when I like some product. I am not a "refund it" type of person and I do not normally chargeback either, but f you need a review, you better have a great product

So I say, do you think we can change the way eBay and Amazon work? Suggest it to them, see what they say. Going to guess you'll get turned down though. Also because sometimes it takes longer than 30 days to receive something. An item might get stuck at customs, or be a pre-order for like 2 months later.
