Hi ya, I want to put samples of our article writing on our website but i don't want to duplicate the content I have provided for my clients and also to stop people from using them. Do you only give an excerpt or do you use a wordpress plugin like;

Google Doc Embedder - does this count as a seo no no regards to duplicate content?

I have searched G and the search engines for an answer with no avail.
How do you get around this?

Thanks

Sounds excellent, don't know why I hadnt thought of that, lol! Cheers

Yeah, that's what I came here to say. Nobody who's trying to save some time by stealing content will be willing to invest it into rewriting it from the image:D

Thanks for the image idea, because this can also be implemented into other strategies. Such as creating a niche site, and copying content from another site! :)

I'd go with the texts converted to image too.

You could also just provide excerpts then send the rest of the sample thru e-mail.

Hmm.. I don't quite understand.
Why don't you just post some samples on your website and just provide the link of that site.
Once you content has been index by Google, people cannot take your content.
(Because if they do they, their site will be penalize by Google)

The OP doesnt want the content to be duplicated. As simple as that. If he posted it on a site in form of a picture then it cant be duplicated unless more effort than copy and paste can be done to it. The document must be something private that only his customers can see it

Ohh.. Okay. I understand the privacy issue.
Then probably as the rest say - make it into image.

Yes, i'd go with image. This is to not spoil the whole article and give the idea away in just a snap. Have them contact you and ask for a sample. This way, you can also gauge how much people really react to it.

Images are good, but I think there are wordpress plugins there as well which present your content or portfolio in a form of a magazine without the option of being downloaded or copied.

1.Press prt sc button on your keyboard
2. Opet paint.exe
3. ??
4. Profit!

Just like other guys said, use it as image. Just came here to post that but I'm so, so slow. Hehehe

I personally use Content Copy Protection & Prevent Image Save wordpress plugin to make images, and text not clickable/copied. Also you can check out Yumpu ePaper for making documents into a flipbook/portfolio. They have a wordpress plugin too.

Google has the option to embed a Word document from Google cloud, and maybe that's something you have considered with the embedding option. This idea works really well. Not sure they would consider it duplicate content, which is typically more focused on content that is published two or more times on your own website, versus content published on your site and then syndicated to another (which is sort of what would be happening if you linked to your content on Google Cloud word document and then embedded on your site).

Using an excerpt is good however taking a image of your text could work well also and also show the full extent of your work.
