I Prefer it do manually. if you do it manually. in case if in future you change NAP how you will manage to change citations. it will make a Headache for you.

Automated tools cant make the category selection right, so they pick a default category if they cannot find one you need.

When this happen you can end up with a handyman site listed in appliance repair (appliance repair was at the top of the category list).

When automated tools screw up, you have to go fix them by hand. Might as well build them by hand.

So, if someone try to do it automatically after that he must have to fix all the issue by his on own hand or need to find someone to work for him. It's really bad.
