Is Tier Linkbuilding Dead?

Have you found a cheaper/easier shortcut for creating and maintaining all your authentic social signals?

I have not looked into it because the profit outweighs the investment several times over.

Thought I would let you know, I think promoting other forums in same niche is against rules.

And that is highly dependent on the niche people are in. If you're running an SEO campaign for some local real estate agent for $300/month time spend and money become more of an issue than if you're promoting a successful affiliate network. What Google has done is made SEO a much more expensive and time consuming endevor in hopes of squeezing out as many niches as possible I think. Unless of course there is some weird shortcut, which seems doubtful.
 
It's not dead, but you could argue that it's dying. It's obviously less effective today.

...and the primary reason behind that is to discourage spam because they know most of us are not patient enough to continue trying to rank a site even though we are not seeing results.
