I think you confused in LSI Keywords and Contextual Keywords.

For example:

keyword: buy facebook fans

LSI Keywords are:
buy facebook fans cheap
buy facebook fans review
buy facebook fans and likes
buy facebook fans usa
buy facebook fans wholesale
buy facebook fans best
buy facebook fans us

Contextual Keywords are:
buying facebook fans
buy guaranteed facebook fans
how to buy facebook fans
buy facebook fan
buy cheap facebook fans

I thought LSI keywords were synonyms. So like:

buy facebook fans
buy social network likes

So the actual keyword is the part that changed, just replaced with a synonym. Am I way off on this?

This is what I am seeking. Lsikeywords.com has been down for awhile. If you are looking for those type of results ultimate keyword hunter (free) offers similar suggestions. The downside is that you have to download it and it is not as quick and simple as lsikeywords. I just started using it but I can't seem to get quite as many suggestions. Perhaps it only displays the stronger lsi keywords.

Nevermind. I was viewing the results incorrectly. It offers a variety suggestions identical to lsikeywords.com. You can also get suggestions for keyword phrases longer than 3 words. This will fill the void just fine.

LSI keywords are only valuable if Google views them is being industry/niche relevant. If you want real ideas go Google the keyword you want to rank for and see what those on the 1st page are using in their on-site writing. Just because some word is a synonym does not mean it is a valuable LSI. Think of an LSI as "industry terms." So if you are ranking for the keyword "football fan site" you'll use works like punk, QB, touch down, and things like that. Related words to your niche... not random synonyms. Essentially you want your anchor text to be niche related.

None of these are LSI. Don't overthink this folks. Keyword + Synonym + Google search = basic LSI (of course there are LSI phrases but these are basically synonyms strung together). LSI also involves words that surround the keyword i.e. mustang and fastback or cobra.
