So, I was back in the market to buy seo packages. Then I just came across an article that states Penguin 3.0 will be released any day now.

So now I'm scared of buying SEO packages that may "work" now, but goes down right after 3.0 is released.

What do you guys think would be the smart option here? Buy or Hold?

The most common mistake we make is to spend too much time being afraid and very little taking risks.

If you are afraid to fall down, you will never learn.

Maybe I used the word scared wrong. I'm trying to be efficient with my budget, which include deciding wether:

A. Buy SEO packages now, wait for 3.0 to hit, bam! lose profit.
B. Hold off, wait for packages designed for 3.0, and purchase then.

It seems like B. is the better solution here but I was wondering everyone else's opinion. I'm not good at SEO, so was curious to hear what everyone else thinks.

Edit: It's not really an article but if you just google "Penguin 3.0 release date" you'll find a lot of website discussing it. Apparently it's past due or something.

Most of my sites are ready for Penguin, I've spent a long time with link removals and targeted all of the crappy links that will be blasted with the next Penguin update. More specifically articles, link directories, social bookmarking sites and stuff like that.

I also removed most of the lower quality blog comments that were overoptimized that I could have removed.

I'd suggest be ready with that first before diving into building more links.

It's your call.

Whether you buy it now or later the result is almost imminent.

I suggest you take a break and redefine your steps.

If China worry about the economic meltdown they won't be anywhere with such huge reserve.

Pick someone who can give you guarantees despite the weather and you should be fine, only REAL expert does it.

If the service is providing links from Original source, no need to fear, but if it's anything automated, then you need to fear the forthcoming Penguin

Make sure your anchor percentages are where they should be or it won't matter what you order you could over optimize and would be screwed either way! good luck

SEO is like that by nature. If it's too hot for you get out of the kitchen :-)

No, the kitchen temperature is just fine. You just shouldn't cook hamburgers yet if there might be a gas leak.

SEO is like walking across a minefield...no matter how careful you are you still might get smacked by a penalty at any time. If you can make any profit by starting today, I would do it.

Buy now, after reviewing the SEO packages' methodology to see how sound or durable it is. After all, if the approach of the provider is not viable long term, if you wait to buy after Penguin 3, a Penguin 4 release may eventually come along and crash your rankings anyway. There will always be a dreaded new revision on the horizon, so simply judge if the provider has an approach that is solid irrespective of future Google changes.

johnc1,

I understand where you're coming from, especially if money is tight and you'd hate to see that time and effort go to waste. But as others have said, there is no guarantee! Even after Penguin 3.0 rolls out and an SEO package you purchased manages to rank you, it can still tank for whatever reason. I saw you pose a question to a seller about whether his service is 3.0 safe, and I don't believe any one here can guarantee that. In fact, if they do, that's a red flag!

Best of luck :)

you got to risk it for the biscuit!

just don't be a fool when buying back links, diversification is key to success
