Let's End "How Do I Make $10?" Threads Once and For All!

In the past few days (and over the past few months) I've seen more and more of these threads popping up. I've seen a handful of these threads recently where the OP wants to tell their story of how they need to earn $10/day or how they have a debt to pay and need to make $2k in two weeks and need help from BHW to make the money and get it in their bank account within 14 days...

Can we make a rule that these threads are prohibited? They serve absolutely zero purpose and are not beneficial to the forum whatsoever. The only responses are angry members (including myself) ripping on the OP and telling him to use the search bar.

Have you ever seen a thread like this and actually gotten a money making idea out of it? Or thought, "I'm really glad I clicked on that thread." The answer is no.

What are your thoughts?

I believe they are already prohibited if you check the forum rules.
I get annoyed but I usually try to give them a little something. Maybe in the sidebar we could have a "newbie" category.
It's almost more annoying when people answering these questions tell the OP to use the search bar. All this does is keep the thread going IMHO.

Newbies probably have no idea what to even search for. I think some of us forget how it is or don't realize how difficult a language barrier can be.
I know most are against spoon feeding and of course I get the obvious reasons but maybe we could have a "start here" section or something outlining what different terms mean and the different methods available without giving step by steps. At least that way they might find something interesting and search more info about it on their own.

The other option is to ignore or ban I guess. All I know is the common "use the search" answer does not work at all

The thing is, they don't take the time to familiarize
themselves with the rules and the basic "unwritten
rules" of the forum. Trust me when I say that I am
as sick & tired of those types of posts as anyone.
However, we have to give them a little leeway at

If I may Sir Wiz, I do agree with the leeway. I think it is needed. The problem to me is everyone seems to be waiting in the shadows to jump on these people. These are the experienced members and they add just as much clutter by doing this. I just believe there should at least be a default "helpful" answer for these types of threads. They "should" check themselves but they won't. We can go off on one noob explaining what they did wrong but another will come. I don't think a ban on a new account will prevent them from creating another because a new account isn't losing anything and an aged member will not ask these things. I just think the banhammer or "use the search" is like the war on drugs. It does more harm than good. Heads are banging off a wall trying to stop this and it hasn't stopped. I don't have an answer but I'm just suggesting maybe it should be looked at from a different angle besides punishment. Sorry if I'm out of line on this. I'm a noob too and don't carry much weight around here but I like the place and want to see it the best it can be

Seriously, I hate them as well! Somehow, they are relevant things coming out of their anxious state of mind and surrounding atmosphere, and long before they know why they shouldn't still ask such questions. Those threads, and similar threads like them, can be put into a separate section (?Troll Section?), well away from the main forums though. Anyone who might want to answer them, seriously or not, can go open that section and do whatever (ofc not in an unRuly way). I think, when you have a off-the-focus section for those kind of things, the number of threads would also shrink considerably.

It's not only happening here on BHW, it's on all major IM forums.
Sure we were all newbies once but I don't remember this happening
a few years back.

Either the IQ of newbies has dropped drastically or people now days are just
to freakin LAZY.
Anyway, it's impossible to stop unless stupidity becomes a banable offense.

Honestly I've only been really using this forum for the last few months. I signed up originally for the download section. I didn't mean anything personal. I hate those threads as much as anyone else. I found it hard to wrap my head around all the info on here at first but I never once asked anyone for a method. No one should ask without searching. With that said, I think the fact I've been lurking for so long makes me more aware than some how damaging to the forum responses like "what's wrong with you" can be. You can tell every newbie to piss off and another one will come asking the exact same thing. I'm not so dense to think getting pissed off about it will solve anything. Get pissed and wait for it to go away or come up with a real plan to combat the problem. I don't know what the answer is but it is not "use the search". I'm at least trying to help. Your 2 posts on this thread are 100% useless. Yeah, the threads are pretty LQ. The thing is a lot of people online just want to get other people to tell them how to magically make money without any work, which is basically impossible.

I'm not a long time member on BHW, but I've seen this on just about every other forum, so it's definitely a newbie thing as you said.

There are plenty of well documented and archived methods to earn $5-$10-$20 a day. Whatever about using the search bar...a google search would spring up these methods which some new members dont seem to be able to do.

Anyone who has any intention of being a part of the community will spend a few weeks reading to get to know the landscape of the place. Guys that sign up and post crap journey threads or "how do I make money onthe internet" threads tend to be never heard of again.

I am well aware that small $ daily methods are very important but read the forum first they have been done and are available already.

I have a solution. I'll create a thread that would contain the URLs of the threads that are helpful to newbies. So, whenever a newbies posts such unwanted threads, anyone of us can just point him to that thread.

The problem is that, right now, I am down with flu and fever and won't be able to do it pretty soon. If anyone can do it sooner, most welcome. Otherwise, I'll do it as soon as I can.

These do exist but no one uses them. They are not easily searchable and no one uses them as a helpful reply

I suppose the best way to deal with this at least for now is to educate when these threads come along. Not to patronize or flame, but to just let them know that "xxxxx would be better" or "xxxx isn't really a high quality post, consider xxxxxx".

If people keep doing it after reminders, then fair enough, but try give newbies help before crashing down on hem and starting an argument.

We are considering introducing a section specifically for newbies at some point, so we are working on ways to combat these things, but as always, there is something more important to get implemented/fixed.

Instead of creating a thread about useless stuff -> which makes also your thread useless, you could've atleast shared some decent method or ideas, as the misleading title would suggest.
Who writes the threads you talkin' about already have a sad life, you've got money and ideally a better life, so just ignore and go on, I say. They don't hurt you directly in anyway, and if you get so pissed off by them, then I must advice you to smoke some weed more often, 'cause these are for sure the problems worth some mentioning, or even a thread.

Worse than peoples complaining 'cause they've no money, theres only peoples complaining of peoples complaining they've no money.
